Does it symbolizes some sorta status? Is there a particular culture that does this only? Should the ring be on a particular hand?

Please tell me...my boyfriend wears a diamond pinky ring every so often and I haven't really questioned him, but now I'm curious....and I will ask him about it as soon as I see what the majority is saying....

And my boss did not take it bad. She said that she is excited for me. My job is not one where I have a specific Quota, or have to man this phone for incomming calls, it's an amdinistrative function. I have finished all projects and basically have nothing I can do for the next 2 weeks. My boss said that she has nothing that she wants me to take care of, but she may think of something. The question is, how can I ask her to let me go so that I can collect unemployment for the next 2 weeks? If I quit, I can not get it, the company has to let me go..... so I can not simply tell them I quit.... HELP, I have nothing to do!

now there's this lazy woman who loves complaining about her co-workers. she's cunning and slow in work (so she dont have to do so much work!). problem is, ive joined this co for less than 4 months. so is it ok for me to give such feedback to the boss already? (fyi, that woman has been with the co for over 10 years) :(

That ocurred to me and I wonder if I am right. Because "he/she" puts men in first place while "(s)he" puts women first.

I went to a barbecue at the weekend and there was a black man there with his wife. I was sitting near them and they were served with some chicken and salad with lovely fresh tomatoes.
As soon as the man saw the tomatoes he went hysterical and started going on about how 'they' dont eat tomatoes. It was just like you would see a vegetarian scorn being served meat. You should have seen his wifes face as well - just as if they had been insulted.
Is this some kind of tribal / custom why blacks dont eat tomatoes? I never heard of anything like this before and I thought it was rude of these people to behave like this when they had been invited to someones barbecue. They could have just left the tomatoe uneaten.

My friend's parents are giving me a 100 bucks as a college present, but I feel really bad about accepting it because I don't even know them that well. What's a good way to reject the gift without seeming rude? Or should I just take the money.. ?

Why is it that in the workplace that a male boss will always treat the attractive females differently than the average female co-workers even though the boss isn't that appealing?
And sometimes these attractive girls take advantage of their male bosses so they can get what they want like a day off or wanting to leave early and they get away with it because they know their boss won't say no to them, and if a average female co-worker ask the male boss if she could leave early, he would respond differently and maybe deny her. WHY??? Give me some suggestions........????????

I ask this because 1) over 90 % of men entering federal prisons are sons of single mothers 2) such women often land in permanent poverty 3) it deprives them of advanced schooling, better jobs 4) they are a drag on the taxpayers

I just quit my job because a girl under me made everything hard on everyone in my department especially myself! serveral complaints were made about this one person and nothing was done, even after all the big bosses got involved. they were on my side just never wrote her up when she continued doing things wrong out of vengence! Now i feel i left my crew with a big mess. I no longer have to deal with this, just feel guilty that everyone else has to put up with it, felt there was nothing more i could do!

I recently started a job as a waiter at a cafe. Today, when my shift was over I left. However, after leaving, I decided that I was hungry and that I wanted to eat, so I figured that I might as well go back and eat there since I haven't tried many things on the menu. Anyway, the owner of the place charged me 50% of the meal. Is that standard practise or do most places give their employees free meals. The dish I ordered was only $12. Also, I was forced to tip out the kitchen 20%?

I am a pretty blunt person... I don't mean to offend people, and I would say that people rarely offend me. But why is it that honesty is either loved or hated? But never taken at face value. I am always "refreshing" to people, or "offensive". Can you get a break?

My fiance' and I have been enduring the constant bash of what's known as a "workplace-click" for nearly 2 years now. We are one of two couples working maintenance for an apartment complex with 312 ,..soon to be 348 units. My fiance' and myself do 3 times the work of this other couple yet they seem to get away with sheer murder half the time. They always get comp time,...time to spend with their grand-daughter,..etc, they have recieved 5 raises to our 1 raise in the last 3 years. They have a neat little gameplan set up to keep them at the top and anyone else who comes on board at the bottom. I've been taking plenty of notes on their actions and schemes,...can I prove any of them?,..yes,....a few. When we started this job our employer told us we were considered equals. 2 years and tons of work later,...they make this guy my supervisor ???,....When I've done everything he's done & more for this company. I went from an equal to a gopher,....any advice before i have to get nasty?

I was getting into a truck at work, and this customer was standing right behind me and said "Damn girl, you're turning me on" which I thought was TOTALLY inappropriate and ridiculous. He did appologize, but I am still very uncomfortable being around him. Should I tell my boss? If I do, what could she possibly do about it?

What if you are snooping and find a note saying the person wants to die. This is serious. A suicide note. You cant just walk up to them and say "Hey guess what I found when I was snooping!" so how do you tell them you know and you are concerned!
