I just quit my job because a girl under me made everything hard on everyone in my department especially myself! serveral complaints were made about this one person and nothing was done, even after all the big bosses got involved. they were on my side just never wrote her up when she continued doing things wrong out of vengence! Now i feel i left my crew with a big mess. I no longer have to deal with this, just feel guilty that everyone else has to put up with it, felt there was nothing more i could do!

It's not fair that you ended up quiting your job; that girl under you should have been fired or at least reprimanded. Companies nowadays seem too reluctant to deal with bullies of whatever sort, in fear of employment lawsuits. Either that, or she's got some 'special connections' unbeknown to you. If your former bosses don't take some responsibilities in dealing with the matter, they'll soon lose all the good people working around that girl. I wouldn't feel guilty about it.

I firmly believe that company culture starts from the top. Few managed to effect a change in the other direction. Staff staying with a company either share or adopt the bosses' values, or eventually look for greener pasture.

I do not know what is the root cause you have a complaint about a girl under you.Your big bosses involved on your problem and they were on your side but why they did not decide the right action to her ?Maybe she could defend her action and your big bosses could accept her action. You must make an introspection.why you just quit your job if you have no wrong. You can move to other department if you have no good mood work with her.

Why did u let a subordinate force u out of ur job ? U should have shown more backbone and stood ur ground with her. Did you not have the authority to write her up since she was under ur direct supervision ? You could have written dates and job discrepancies she did in her work and turned them in to ur bosses. Perhaps that is what they needed to bring her to task or get rid of her, u said they were on ur side, but did nothing further. Remember the old proverb, the squeaky wheel gets the oil, maybe u weren`t loud enough. It takes a firm person to be a leader, ur workers must know what their job is and how u want it done, period. Hopefully on ur next job, u`ll take a firmer stand in dealing with those under you.

I think you did the right thing. If your boss knows about the situation, and didn't do anything to the point where you felt like you had to quit, you could actually go after them for harassment. Sorry you feel guilty about your coworkers, but I'm sure that if it was as bad as you say, they understand.

You did all you could to make the situation right. If the people above you were not willing to pull the plug on her then you did the right thing be getting out fo the mess. They made their choice, now they can deal with the mess. Stop worring and feeling guilty. It is no longer your concern.

There is nothing more you can do. You reported the matter, tried to negotiate and worked hard to resolve the issues.

Unless your boss/es were willing to take action, you are out of options.

Time to let this go, and find yourself a new, nicer workplace.

You can sumpathise with your team from afar, and even keep in touch and let them know you care, but you need to look out for your own interests now!

Cheers :-)

there is always more to do! did you find out why this person is doing this or why the bosses didn't do anything? and for your crew you did let them down you gave up and transferred the problem to someone else so you didn't have to put up with it!!

I don't think you should allow yourself to dwell on feeling guilty. You didn't bail on your team, you gave up a lot to stand up for your principles. That's quite an example to those who might be inspired.

Don't be. Its your boss who failed everyone not you. Your bosses had choice to do something about it but they choose to ignore it.
