I hope you're giving a couple weeks notice, so I don't think the time of day matters in the least.

ust tell your boss you need to speak privately for a moment, then tell them you're resigning and give them your letter of resignation.

At the end of the day and 48 hours before a payday. This allows the payroll staff to complete your last paycheck and ensure your paid in full. Also end it on a high note leave with good feelings all around. You never know you may have to deal with that boss later on the new job or come back and work for him. So its wise to leave knowing your welcome back.

If you have a morning tea break, do it then, when the early rush is over, and the day hasn't started to wear either of you down. (assuming you are parting on good terms - if not, first thing in the morning is best).

I strongly believe that early in the day is the best bet, reason being that do you really want to stress yourself out the whole day about a possible confrontation. Get it out of the way early so you can concentrate on the rest of your day instead of stressing.

There's no good time to tell him. Just man up errr woman up and tell him right away next time you see him. Save both him and you the agony of procrastination.

Just drop it off on his desk.

No need to talk to him about it unless he calls you in.
