I am a new hire to my company. As a new hire we have 5 days for taking leave. I am need of 3 weeks leave for my wedding. My role in the team is very critical. How do I convince my boss in getting leave w/o making her feel I am irresponcible? Please suggest some nice winning ways. Thanks in advance..

They should realize that you didn't just up and plan a wedding in a short time and accommodate you if they can.

Did you tell them about your plans either during the interview or when they offered you a position there?

First, think of a plan to delegate what you do to others in the company.
Second, tell your boss plentyyyyyyy of time in advance....and remind them ever-so-often......that the date is fast approaching.
Third, dont feel guilty for asking for this time..........getting married is a huge deal...once in a lifetime ....and you are not the first to get married.

Try to plan it where you will use three or four weekends to minimize the amount of days you will have take 'off'. Let your boss know that you did this on purpose to minimize the impact of your absence. Take off as few days as possible.

Let them know that you cannot take the chance of losing your job over getting married.
And...........get this completely resolved months before your wedding so that you will not have to worry about your job stress while your supposed to be experiencing such a happy event.

Congratulations....hope this helped!

Just talk to her about it. I am curious to know why you didn't think about this and bring this up before you got hired. I would think that you 've been planning this wedding for a while.
