If you don't call.....you don't get in.

That goes for everyone.....I hate unexpected guests.

I think everyone has the right to their own personal space issues on this subject but for me, I don't mind. I don't have the issue of what condition my house is in because I'm a bit of a neatnik and my husband and I are both quite social. Since it's usually neighbors who show up, it's a fun thing for us to open the bar and have some unexpected entertaining. But if someone is from out of town, yes we would like a phone call so we can plan accordingly and our friends and family respect that definitely. You have to set your guidelines and most people will respect them I would hope.

I would like it if they'd call and ask if it were a good time for a visit. This way I could plan some refreshments. And as I do work different hours sometimes I may be on my way out the door. I always call and ask if it is a good time for a drop in.

If I don't know someone is coming, they won't get in. I generally am NOT dressed for company (due to physical disabilities) and I simply do not let people in. Mostly don't even answer the door. Even before I became disabled, I did not enjoy unexpected company. And I don't expect them to tell me they're coming, I expect them to ask if it's convenient for me to have guests!

NO! I do not like unexpected guests. I do not place housecleaning high on my priority list, but if I know someone is coming I will make the effort. By the same token, I would never show up anywhere uninvited or unexpected.

Depends on who they are. Family I'm always glad to see. Others like those I see at work, I'd rather they call.

I do not mind having people unannounced as far as they do not land in my house for dinner or lunch. I would not mind cooking for people if they call me ahead of time.

i dont really care, thats pretty much how i live...ill have random friends show up at my house. ive had times were there was a party at my house and i didnt even know it until people started coming in, just went with the flow, ends up with people passed out for a day on my table sometimes.

the only time ive cared is when i have my girlfriend over or somthing special is goin on

Call definitely.
Everyone has those moments where they are just NOT in the mood for visitors or not prepared, or are into something personal.
I find it rude for guests to pop in unexpectedly.
I don't do it to others, so I don't like it when they do it to me.
