well theres this guy i my school that always picks fights with me i knew him for a long time but never been anything to friends with him i usually just ignore him. So today he kept calling me names and stuff and i walked away and as i was walking away one of his words actually got to me and i called him a homo and then he tackled me against the wall and held me by my collar i got really mad and pushed him really hard right at a picture frame and it cracked and thats when a teacher came and told both us to go to the office. The principle didn't really have time to discuss this so he just told us to go home and come back tomorrow and explain to him the story. So do u think I'm partly to blame for coming back and calling him a homo and do u think what i did was wrong because i have to explain this to my principle tomorrow and i don't feel the slightest guild lol

Is it offensive to call someone a spoiled brat because their parents buy them more things than yours do?

What do you consider to be a spoiled brat?

Where do you draw the line between being a spoiled brat or just getting what you want?

Someone I know, more of an acquaintance than a friend, is about to leave for a tour of duty in Iraq. I would like to thank him for his service and wish him the best, but what is a good way to say it? I don't want to say good luck or best wishes...those sound a little too lighthearted for the occasion and I'm not too religious, so I feel awkward saying I'll be praying for him.

Thanks!

When I hit the showers at the rec center where I workout I always find myself in an awkward position because at the same time the kids from swimming lessons are finishing up and ending up in the showers too, and since these are younger children it is very often that their moms end up in the men's room too. Sometimes moms are everywhere helping their kids take a shower or dress them up. All these women in the men's showers make me feel uncomfortable because I am walking around naked in front of them and I am not sure if I am inappropriately exposing myself? I have no problem with them seeing me naked but I am not sure if I make them feel uncomfortable and they are just there to help their kids. Trouble is that this is the only hour I can shower because I need to get to work from there. Should I be more conservative and wear shorts?

This week is academic spirit week at my high school and tomorrow each class is supposed to dress diffently. My class is supposed to dress like teenybobbers. But the thing is I don't have even the slightest clue what that is. So if you could tell me that would be great!

I have been dating this girl who is overall pretty cool, but doesn't seem to show much regard for how I keep my living space. She likes to come over and cook for the two of us---which is great---but she never cleans up the mess, or even offers to help. She's also like that if she comes over and has a drink or snack with me. In fact, she'll usually just leave the empty (or half empty) glass or plate on the kitchen table or coffee table.

The other night, she came over and cooked dinner. After she finished, I commented on how we should probably clean everything up. She said we didn't need to. I then remarked on how I had noticed that she never cleaned up or even picked up after herself when she was over. She looked at me like I had suddenly grown another head and said, "But you're a GUY! Guys aren't supposed to care about that!"

Okay I meet this nice guy off of eharmony.com and we want to have our first date this coming Saturday. He lives in Wisconsin and I live in Chicago. He drives while I don't. It is a 3-4 hour drive from Wisconsin to Chicago. I had mentioned that I could take the Amtrak and meet him halfway but now I'm not so sure if I comfortable with doing that. I would really like for him to drive here. I know that is asking a lot but I think its more reasonable than me being on Amtrak late then having to take public transportation to get home late at night. So do you think I am being reasonable with wanting him to drive here? If he does drive here should I be the one that pays for our activities to make up for this lost of gas and all the miles that he is putting on his car?

I would really appreciate if you answer the questions above. I really don't need to hear about the danger of meeting people from offline. I very aware of the dangers and how to protect myself.

Thanks
CuriousStacy

A friend that I've known a few years-- not a close friend, but not an acquaintance either-- is marrying another not close friend not acquaintance (I met them separately) and I'm spending about $500 to get to the wedding.

Am I expected to spend a large amount on the wedding present? How much would you suggest?

What did you do with that new found knowledge? Did you confront the person, or did you add yourself to their network and track all their questions?

I have always wondered what I would do, especially if the person had their dirt plastered all over YA. What would be the perfect thing to do?

I drink in moderation. I would like it if people would take no for an answer but they don't, so How can I tell people that I would prefer not to drink?
All weekend people were offering me beer, sangria, and liquor and I told people I was already drunk, or the designated driver, or I don't need to drink to have a good time or I didnt want to fall asleep early which is what happens when I drink sometimes too early in the day, and still the offers kept coming. I got one praise from one friend, but other people thought I was being rude.

Unfortunately, I am besieged by problems in my household. If it's not the manservant Devachandra Chandipati wanting to go to Rangoon to visit his family, it's the cook. She insists on using some type of packet mixture to make gravy. I think the stuff is bloody awful, and have told her so. I tried to explain to her that she needs to consult Mrs Beeton's Cook Book and Household Management, but she insists she knows better. What a nerve that woman has, I really should dismiss her for her impudence, but her Yorkshire Puddings are to die for, and I should miss those if I were to get rid of her. What should I do??

If you go to other countries, they have traditional dress, dances, ceremonies, rituals, foods, and other things that are specific to their own countires. Americans don't really have anything like that do we? Did we just steal the culture from other countries?

I would like to know if your spouse or significant other doesn't put a NEW ROLL of toilet paper when you are almost out by the toilet, and when you go to use the bathroom guess what? You don't have any toilet paper to use. Does this drive anyone else crazy that some people don't put a new roll of toilet paper on the toliet paper holder, when they have used it all up?

I got so angry at my husband about not doing this I told him that the next time he does this,I will HIDE the toilet paper on him,so he can see what it feels like to be sitting on the toilet with no toilet paper and you have to yell for someone to get you some more toilet paper.

Why is it that SOME NOT ALL men cannot figure out how to put a NEW ROLL of toilet paper on the toilet paper holder, when they have used up all of the old toilet paper? This just drives me nuts when my husband does this, and it makes me so angry too because I just think that this is so inconsiderate when he does this!

I have a friend that talks to me while we wait for our kid's to get out of elementary school. Anyway, she works with a co-worker who she is friends with and they see each other everyday at work. When I am trying to talk to my friend I will call her,"Alyssa,"Alyssa will stand there while I am talking to her and she will CONSTANTLY text message her friend at work.

Am I overreacting but do you think this is extremely rude? I mean these two people see each other everyday at work, and I only get to see Alyssa two days a week because of her work schedule. Should I be blunt and say,"You know,I think it is really rude of you to be text messaging somebody, when I am talking to you,"or should I just let it go?

The same question goes for if you go out to eat with friends and they are sitting at the table text messaging other people,do you find this rude too? How would you deal with this and what would you say? I just think this is really rude and inconsiderate, when you are with other people.

I've been invited to a formal event, but the problem is I really don't have a clue about wearing formal clothing. Especially how high the trousers should be. You see, I normally wear very baggy clothing, which hangs loose, so it feels very awkward wearing trousers that are quite high. So, how high should they be, just below the navel, or what????
