Unfortunately, I am besieged by problems in my household. If it's not the manservant Devachandra Chandipati wanting to go to Rangoon to visit his family, it's the cook. She insists on using some type of packet mixture to make gravy. I think the stuff is bloody awful, and have told her so. I tried to explain to her that she needs to consult Mrs Beeton's Cook Book and Household Management, but she insists she knows better. What a nerve that woman has, I really should dismiss her for her impudence, but her Yorkshire Puddings are to die for, and I should miss those if I were to get rid of her. What should I do??

Dear sir,

In your last letter one noticed that you discussed your man servant and his escapade to Rangoon. In fact I was so disgusted and flabber ghasted I had to remove my strong view on the matter.

Sir once again I must berate you for the underhanded treatment of your servants. You must at once refrain from discussing such problems and become more active in the reconciliation of your house hold to smooth running.

Send her at once to Dorset. To the house hold of Hugh Fernley Whittingstall. Where she can at once learn to cook in consultation with your gardeners own natural organic produce and that of the surrounding country side.

When we at Yahoo Answers next have the pleasure of looking upon your countenance I sincerely hope your house hold problems have been declared settled and comfortable.

Artemus, Artemus ----you know very well your Doctor has repeatedly told you that the gravy you insist on having is no good for your arteries, and yet here you are again complaining about the way your cook makes it. I do agree with Jenkin however. As long as she makes that wonderfully delicious Yorkshire pudding you should be the happiest man in the world. Enjoy your pudding, ol' chap, and forget about the gravy.
Bye the bye, my maid has a brother that is currently unemployed should you be of the mind to engage him temporarily during the absence of your own.
Cheerio

You poor man and good help is so hard to find these days.

Have you explained to her it is very simple to make gravey.
Perhaps she didn't pass the gravey course in culinary school.

Suggest she take a refresher course (at your expense of course), since you love her Yorkshire Puddings, as you said they are to die for.

The trip will do her good and she will come back with many new and improved recipes.
How splendid that will be for you.

Just think of how much she would want to please you after that.

My cook travels with me on numerous occassions and we usually visit many new and exciting places and she can't wait to try out the recipes she has enjoyed in her travels.

Mrs.Beesley is my cook, housekeeper and my friend if you treated your help like that they would respect you. They may not be in your social circle but they would treat you well.

I hope i have been of some help. Have a pleasant day and good luck old chap.

I know just the dilemma you are in, but really, it is so hard to find staff today to attend to your every need. Servants seem to have forgotten their place. They actually want PAYING!. However, I really do sympathise about the Yorkshire Puddings. So few cooks make them properly nowadays, and I wouldn't have the faintest idea how to go about making them myself. I simply wasn't brought up to it.
It's a hard life.

definitely, she is who she is and you're able to desire to settle for that. attempt to get alongside with the failings which you do agree on fairly then what you do no longer. she would be in a position to no longer continuously accept as true with you. The commentary you made as un-called for. What did you assume from that fairly then her getting indignant, extremely? She became into additionally incorrect for yelling yet she is the person. only get alongside as suited you could and take a glance at to have a serious communication together with her. only settle for that she is who she is and you're who you're, and be grateful issues are not worse.
