OH WELL!!!!! Is this not a free country? Do we not have freedom of speech?

I am an intelligent woman. I know there is a time and a place for everything. I DO NOT think that censoring things to the point of total white and black / wrong/right is necessary! Besides... are we all not human? who's to say who's opinion is right or wrong? Your thoughts????

Being able to say what we want to say when we want to say is indeed our right. That being said, with this right comes stipulations. If you are going to excercise your right to say what ever you want, you have to be just as open to what people say in response. You're puting yourself and what you have to say out there for everyone to hear and just as you have every right to say what you want, other people have every right to respond how they see fit. No one has the power to tell you that your opinion is right or wrong, because it's your opinion. But they have just as much right to tell you they think you're wrong as you do to tell them that you think you are right.

I think people lose this idea when it starts getting cut down to, as you said, black or white and right or wrong. There is a gray area! This is life and yes, we are human. No one is the same so it's impossible that what is right to someone will be right to everyone. It's not that simple thus it cannot be broken down as simply as right or wrong. It's all about a single person's interpretation of right and wrong.

And before I get a bunch of thumbs down about how things like murder and rape are always wrong, obviously things like that require special consideration. Think more generally, like people's opinions, not necessarily actions.

In the end, no one can tell you that your opinion is wrong, it just may be different from theirs. If your opinion offends someone, it is their right to be offended, but that doesn't mean that they are right and you are not.

One year ago I moved to the Czech Republic. One of the first characteristics that struck me was how completely upfront Czechs are. Comments Americans might consider rude or insulting are not offensive here. Czechs simply answer the question you ask, without putting it through the agonizing euphemism wringer.

For example, no one in America will tell me I need to lose some weight. They always mask the truth in sugar coated comments like, "You look just fine", or "You don't want to get too thin". That doesn't help. I need people who will come out and tell me the truth.

Boy have I ever come to the right place!

Czech don't say things to be mean. They don't poke me in the stomach and call me the Pillsbury Dough Boy. But they have little experience in dancing around the subject like we do. One time, I invited a girl over and asked her, if the kitchen were hers, what would she change. I figured she would just point out the horrible pink (yes, Pink!) curtains that came with the apartment. Instead, she took a quick look around, and simply said, "Oh.... everything!"

God, I love that kind of honesty.

I don't go out of my way to be offensive, but I will admit to occasionally using provocation to get an honest answer when discussing politics. You have no idea how brutally honest people will unintentionally be if you get them really steamed up. Finally, you will hear what they REALLY think, not the Politically Correct mask they use.

Offensive? Well, manners are an important part of life. They are like the lubricant in an engine that keeps the parts from clanking together. Manners help people get along and to feel a whole range of emotions: safe, appreciated, gratitude, and the bonds of friendship. But if we take it too far, we're just mouthing things we don't really believe, and that's like two plastic robots "conversing".

Sometimes, we need to just be "real". I hope none of this was..... offensive. :)

Well the complete factor is that each human, it doesn't matter what they're born or comply with for a faith, so long as they're alive they have got possibility to embody God, and that the ones going to hell can be those who do some thing terrible to deserve it, and people who do not do a lot of whatever, well or unhealthy, simply do not cross at any place, farnkly even hell sells extra intersting than not anything. But if tehy refuse to take delivery of God, or in the event that they intentionally offend God, that's among them and God, God does not want whatever from us as members rather then devotion to Him.

i do believe though that they some of the things that are believed to have to be censored are probably inappropriate and should have some sort of block from children
we need to protect of kids
if an adult wishes to listen to music with bad lnguage or something or wants to read a racy story or something that is there business but it should not be available for our kids

wow. lots of great answers. good luck in choosing a best answer.

the country is free, YA is not.

show that cleavage in public, nobody calls the cops. show it on here, the yahoo police trip over them selfs to send you a violation, and every A cup in the world complains. (meow. hiss. spit).

YAHOO, i beg you again. give us an adult only section. put a "warning cleavage ahead " sign on it. even give us a "show your cleavage" section.
let us talk about sex without having to say "his thingy" ,because you let 12 year olds in.
everybody will be a lot happier.

We are all human. You are entitled to your own opinions. I just believe in keeping things to myself that may hurt other people's feelings because I care for and respect other people.
