It may discourage the person from leaving the thumbs down if their identity is reveal. I just feel irritated b/c all I was trying to down was help.

Personally, I would have no problems if the identity were revealed of people who gave a thumbs-down for answers. I only give thumbs down when the person appears to be "point gaming" by giving stupid answers like "two points" or when an honest question was answered in a derrogatory manner. I would have no qualms about having my identity revealed to those to whom I have given a thumb's down.

Yes- I agree with you that it is annoying to receive a "Thumbs Down" - but it is also very encouraging when you receive a "Thumbs Up". We are all only Human-Beings & therefore- can't get it right all of the time. I truly don't know if there is a way to find out who gave you a "Thumbs Down". Good question though.

I agree with that other person, I don't usually mind getting a thumbs down, unless i've made a serious answer or talked about something personal to me. I think some people just give them to be d i ck s.

Usually the thumbs down doesn't bother me...we're all entitled to our opinions. It's just the annoying 14 year-old girls that givethem to me beause I don't agree with them....that's irritating.

haha!yes! sometimes though i give an annoying answer just to see what kind of reaction i'd get. sometimes a bold answer gets more thumbs up than down. I hate it when I receive a thumbs down especially after i made a serious answer but there is no way to reveal their identity. you can see who gave you a star though.

I get them all the time; just ignore them. What would you do if you could find out who left them, yell at them? I actually applaud Yahoo for not opening that can o'worms.
