My boss is having a BBQ for our entire staff and their families at his home. He does not want us to bring any food, as his wife has it "under control". He has his own wine cellar, so wine won't do. Any suggestions on something to bring so we don't show up emtpy handed?

I have a personal website that, when I checked the stats on, I found out that it is getting hits from another person's blog...the thing is that person and I are not really friends anymore and to be honest the only way someone could find my site is 1) if I told them personally about it or 2) they actually google my name. No way did I tell him about it. And I find it freaky that he is searching for me online.
My question is...is there any etiquette on linking to other people's websites just like that without even asking? Is it right of me to ask him to take off the link?

I just saw a report that over 50% of people don't believe a woman should be able to breast-feed her child in public. I was appalled. How else is someone who is breast-feeding supposed to leave the house the first few months? Hide in bathrooms?!? What do you think?

Is it part of the local culture and community.
Is this anti-social behaviour acceptable on this planet, or should they be instructed daily by the media on how to act in public or complete finishing school.

I am a non native English speaker and I wonder whether I should use "Dear Ms" in an email to a female Patent Attorney whom I do not know in person or a more appropriate title.
She has also a B.sc.
Thanks a lot

A colleague down the corrider and I meet nearly every day for a 10 min coffee break. We talk about everything including make-up, looks, etc and general girlie talk. She said I looked nice today, which I thanked her and then she said my breasts looked big today. I wasn't sure how to react and so I just smiled and said, "Oh, do they?" Should I just accept this as womanly talk or something more serious?

Shes really mature for her age and while I am attracted to her, I love her deeper than flesh, I love her mind and her abilities, I love her heart, her skills and her imperfections dearly. We are both of ages where our society would look down on us being together. I understand that whats right and wrong depends on the culture a person is in. there is no doctor who can truthfully determine the mental state of someone in love as being "abnormal" regardless of their age difference because love knows no boundaries. But I was wondering if it would be legal to have a relationship as boyfriend/girlfriend as long as it is non-sexual? I understand also that as we both grow older our views and tastes may change and I would never do anything that may end up hurting her in the future. Should I officially consider us boyfriend and girlfriend because I love her. We might get weird looks occasionally, but at least we'd be together. or should I let her go because I love her?

this is not a question, Im just sharing a story.Yes, Im pregnant too.You don't need to let me know how Im selfish and I should be thinking about the baby because obviously I know that and I wasn't thinking while adrenaline was rushing through my body and my pregnacy hormones are outa control. This is what happen: I got out to talk to my babys dad who was pumping gas and blocking one side of the gas station with the limo. This trashy girl in her old beat up hondo wouldnt let go of the horn because she wanted him to move when she couldnt simply back up with all that wide room behind her.The whole gas stations was angry by her noise so I walked to her car and asked her to back up.She told me **** off so I asked her to get out of the car.She said to me"what are you gona do? hit a 8 month pregi girl" I said ***** Im 7 month pregnant get the hell out(people cant tell Im pregnant, they just think Im fat when I gained 30 pounds.I look like a chunky girl ) she grabbed my neck and I socked her

Walking around my local supermarket I noticed a female staff member unloading a tray of fresh bread that she had just brought out of the store bakery.
She was wearing the staff uniform, which included a pair of black trousers, she bent down to stack the shelf.
I noticed two very large (obviously male) flour palm prints, one on each cheek. I was initially gob smacked , then I had a little chuckle and walked on. There were a couple of other staff women standing around, they had been watching my reaction and both started to giggle, they knew about it if course!
Like a coward I walked on.
Now I thought if amusing at the time, but what would the store manager have thought if he noticed it? More important what would I have said to this women?
Would you have walked on by or what would you have said to her?

My roommate is more than three times my age and since she moved in, she thinks she runs the place. Since she's older, we haven't really hit it off and we never even speak to each other. Lately, she's been very confrontational about things and the other night (after she disrespected by bf and I) I told her that she needed to move out. I'm a lover, not a fighter, and I believe it talking things out like civilized human beings, but I can't get a word in through her yelling and she still treats me like nothing everytime she sees me. When I tried standing up for myself, she just increased the volume of her voice and the disrespect towards me. I can't just kick her out because of the lease agreement, but it's getting hard to live in my own home. What can I do to make her respect me or at least stop trying to fight with me everytime I leave my room (until she moves out in two weeks)?

I walked into a theater and a homeless man asked me for money, saying he was down on his luck. So I was feeling sorry for the guy, and so I fished through my purse, and only found 10 cents, which I know is not much, but I usually don't carry cash or check on me since cards are so convenient now a days. So I gave it to the guy. He took a look at it, and threw it on the ground, and gave me a ten minute lecture on how rude it is to give someone change like that. And I was stunned. Here I am just being nice and giving him all the money I have, and I'm getting sh*t for it? Am I wrong in giving the guy all the change I had on me? It seemed like the moral of the story is that don't help the homeless because they don't want change? Then perhaps I shouldn't help anyone at all? I don't know what other people think...but perhaps I shouldn't have tried to help at all?

I arranged with 5 other girlfriends to go to a recent theatre show, as I was the one arranging it I agreed to purchase all the tickets at one time (after everyone had said they were going), as most of my friends work, which makes it harder for them to get in during the day. The day that we were due to go, one friend rang in the morning and cancelled, the other I rang early afternoon to see what time she would get to my house, and she told me she wasn't going. The tickets cost $60 each, neither of the women have said anything about reimbursing me for their tickets. Should I ask for the money? I feel they should pay, as they knew well ahead of time that I was paying for them, and neither cancelled due to an emergency, it was simply because they had "made other plans".
