If someone is a doctor, I find that people always refer to him/her as Dr. Last Name, even when they are not working, like on their day off or after work. Why is that the only profession that you refer to the person by their profession at all times?

Is it just not as deragatory? Is it just less P.C. to call a female 'fat' than a thin male 'skinny.' I have an extremely high metabolism and am 'thin' and there is little I can do about my weight. I just don't understand why people find it 'okay' to comment about my lack of weight, but they don't dare bring up how someone has an abundance of weight. This is very frustrating to me because it has the same effects on someone's psyche in either situation.

I have a verbal agreement with my gardener and have for almost 3 years. I pay him monthly - a certain amount - "rain or shine." If it rains, he doesn't cut the grass and I still pay. He comes on a weekly basis.

He recently left his bill behind with a little note that said "I'm going to take the 4th of July week off." I know he's going to want me to pay him the full amount for the month. Should I??

It may or may not be important to note that my wife and I get him a Christmas gift every year. It's not like we're slave drivers! But I was brought up under the mentality that you work for your money. Am I being a hard ***? Do I just pay t he guy the full amount.?

Do you butt in and say something positive, negative, or what?
I would say something to my closest friends, neighbors if they were to do it. Like to get them to stop but I feel its a losing battle. And I got this thing for some reason about saving the world.

I was either in socks or barefoot, would you think that is just wierd or would you just think, hey whatever floats your boat. Reason I ask is because I hate shoes. I've hated them since grade school and can't stand to wear them. I'm ok with sandals sometimes but they still tend to annoy me and I'm just more comfortable without anything on my feet. So are most people in this country ok with that or do most people just find it wierd to see someone in public in there socks or barefeet?

Don't get me wrong- I'm not shallow and wouldn't break up with a guy for this. Nor do I want to change who he is or make him uncomfortable. However, my boyfriend ALWAYS wears t-shirts and jeans/shorts. ALWAYS. Even when we go on dates or to nicer things (like a musical) he wears t-shirts (with a hoodie if it's cold). Never a long sleeve shirt. Never a polo shirt. It drives me nuts! I dress up for him when we go on dates, but he never dresses up for me. How do I tell him I want him to...well...look nicer?

all the time...IE: every night....

talking to this person is like talking to a brick wall..i've told them often..please don't ring our buzzer..i don't know you therefore i will not let you into the building..they are ringing our buzzer around 1 or 2 in the morning.

I've asked the neighbor who the guest goes to also..to make sure her guests are ringing the right buzzer..obviously that hasn't worked.

can the police be called? the property manager hasn't done a thing about it either..even though she's been told.

There is a big fuss over Richard Gere kissing Shilpa Shetty or Ronaldo kissing whoever .... moral guardians of India have filed cases against people expressing affection in public. But there are millions of Indians who **** in public on the beautiful beaches, along the railway tracks and practically everywhere. They shamelessly show off their filthy bottoms to the whole world. Apparently the CIA (while trying to find vital nuclear bombs) has most satellite images from India showing people shitting in the open. This is not only OBSCENE - it is UNHYGENIC, a health hazard as well as one of the biggest contributors to GREEN HOUSE GASES endagering the whole planet!

I have a guy friend, who I met a few years back. We get along pretty well and such. He never seemed like a pervert like some guys I see. However one incident made me question that:

One day he came over, it was just me and him, parents had gone out. We were chilling in my room, listening to music from his Ipod, however the night before I was up VERY late, so I slowly fell asleep.

Before I had fallen asleep, he had left to go talk to someone on his phone. Initially, I was sleeping with my face towards the chair he was sitting in. A little while later I turned my body around, with my back to his chair.

As I was napping, I felt a slight tug on my jeans. Figuring it was the wind or something, I kept napping. Then I felt a snap on my back, as if my underwear just got snapped. Still, nothing I thought.

Then, I could have sworn, I felt something cold, like a finger, go down my underwear and then the top of my underwear was being pulled, exposing my crack.

If you were eating dinner with your family and everyone finished a little bit ahead of you would you expect them to just get up and leave you there right when they finish or wait until your done? I know that I can be a little bit of a slow eater but even if my family and I have a few guest over and he majority of them are done they still leave for example me and another person sitting there. If I am eating dinner with other people and I finish early i usualy just sit there and enjoy the conversation. what do you think?

I mean my sister has a boyfriend, and besides, I'm not sure if it'd be okay for her. Plus, he's my friend, but I don't want him for my sister (even if she didn't have a boyfriend) because the guy is so naive.

& I try to get along with people everywhere especially at work. This is my story and I need your serious thoughts.
Last week someone sent me a Baby Gap gift card @ work because I'm expecting but because I usually don't get my mail at home I had it sent to my work. The card was supposed to arrive last week Wednesday but I forgot about it since I had been leaving work earlier than normal. Today I asked one of the 2 girls that work at the reception about it and she said she had seen it on her deskmate's desk last week. So when she came in, I asked her and she told me she threw it away after seeming like she didn't know what I was talking about. What made me upset is she said, "I thought it was junk mail and I know junk mail when I see it." After explaining again to her that it was a card from American Express she said she'd call them and I said "let me know" and I left. Note: She just got the position internally, just left college.
Read on; I've pasted our email exchange thereafter.

it happen in my long vacation in Itali, i stayed at a Hotel. But there is something that make me fell unwelcome. It's when i went to that restaurant hotel to had dinner. That time i just used sandals, because i think it's just a non formal event, but when i going to the restaurant, there is a waitresses there that held me down because he said i'm using sandals, and he told me to change it to shoes. The problem is, he say that thing in front of all people. At that time, because i'm asian, i felt he is trying to make embaress at me infront of the people. What do you think?? it's common or he is just a racis person???

I have a poster that I love! I even had it laminated. I want to put in on the inside of my locker in my dorm. The problem is my room mate is afraid of clowns and her lockers right next to mine.

The poster is of the Joker. In the picture he looks psychotic. I love the poster and don't want to leave it behind. Should I be nice and not torment my room mate, even though she torments me with her choice of music. Or should I say screw it and put up the poster???

It happened at a dinner party I hosted. A man sitting on my left was leaning across me to talk to my friend on my right. He kept getting in my space and making me uncomfortable. He was too close. He was breathing in my face, causing me to lose my appetite. I kept scootting up to block his view. I hoped he would back down. He kept getting closer. Finally, he leaned behind the back of my chair and talked to my friend. Irritation! There were no other seats at the table. If this happens again, should I.....

1. Ask him to move away a little?
2. Ask him to change seats with someone?
3. Get up from my seat and eat my meal standing up?
4. Nothing. Let them talk behind my chair.

Help appreciated.
