People often tell me that I "don't act like an only child", even though I am one. I find it offensive that there are stereotypes out there based on attributes beyond one's control: I couldn't determine the number of children my parents had any more than Oprah could choose the color of her skin.

Life is about behaving as respectfully as possibly, regardless of circumstance.

yes, it does offend me sometimes. because i have been told that i was trying to act white just because of the way that i talk, and some of the people i surround myself with. but sometimes i have to look over this stereotype, because some ppl are always going to judge you no matter what you say to them.

i feel that it is sad that america now has classifications on how whites and blacks are supposed to act. as if just because i'm black i'm suppose to listen to rap music and speak "ghetto".

I just think it's ridiculous to think that someone is "acting black" or "acting white". As if races have exclusive rights for some particular behaviors. Why should entire races behave the same anyway, just because they're supposed to "act their own race"?

I've been told I act white and it bothers me that I'm expected to act a certain why and I dont. Other than that, I'm not really that offended.

Not really, because is there really any way that someone can "act white" or "act black"? They aren't making fun of me in any way, they are just acting out a stereotype that they learned somewhere, so it just makes them look stupid.

Depends on what they're talking about. What's "white" to someone? What's "black" to someone?
