Maybe nothing. What upbringing are you? Any particular relgion? Or do you feel the parent is just being totally irrational?
Depends on several factors. What kind of a child are YOU - are you trustworthy, fairly good student, or do you tend to lie, hide the truth, make trouble etc.

Parents have a responsibility to help teach & protect their children. You are 13. Depending on the concert & depending on you, your friends, & your family life- yeah, your parents may indeed absolutely do not want you exposed to certain things at this time. - I wanted to go to 2 heavy concerts- I recvd a FLAT OUT NO- END OF DISCUSSION - come to find out after I was older- you know what - they were right about ME - I was not ready. There were ALOT of things going around- all around- that I would have been very uncomfortable with at that time.

What if you are "ready" or you believe you are to just want to go & enjoy the music & atmosphere without wanting to get into trouble?

Ask your parents if they are willing or send a trusted relative to go with you because you really really want to go & you arent trying to get involved with stuff you shouldnt, but you would like to hang out-afterall it is such n such group- & you know how much I like them.

What if the answer is still no? Accept it. They are your parents- they are not trying to ruin your life, but preseve it. You will understand when you have childeren.

I brought my 10 year old to a Hillary Duff concert. She thought it was loud so we put cotton in our ears. She ran around, danced and ordered stuff from the stands. She felt like I wasn't even there. All the way home that night she thanked me over and over.At first she didn't want me to be there, but I told her it's better than not going at all!!!
get it?

I would not let my child go to a rock concert by themselves with just friends until they are at least 16. My step-daughter went to concerts in middle school, but they were the boy bands, not anything like heavy metal. It can be dangerous, especially in the mosh pits. There have been kids killed and seriously injured in those. They are not appropriate for kids.

It depends on the show and venue as to whether there are drugs, and just because drugs might be there doesn't mean you will do them!
I was 15 when I went to my first show.
If your parents know the friends you want to go with and they talk it out with THEIR parents, I would think it'd be okay.

Good luck! Just tell them you'll be good!!!

Your parents are the ultimate authority in your life(save for God) and if they object to you doing something then your responsibility according to Ephesians 6:1 is to adhere to their decision. In addition parents love their children and if parents say no to something, more than likely their doing it in the best interest of their child.
