I would wear a pair of basketball shirts and a tank(wife beater). If you like to take your shirt off do that. And I dont need my lawn moved cuz I live in an apartment.

A T-shirt for comfort, light weight long pants for safety. The mower can kick back small stones or debris on the lawn and hit you in the leg! Sturdy work boots for the same reason.
Thanks for the offer on the lawn mowing, I expect that the commute would be a killer though!

If your mowing as a business you should wear a T with your logo on it, and a pair of shorts, and some low work boots. Look a bit professional. If you have abs, a six pac,and tan shiny skin, you can mow my lawn and you don't have to wear any shirt.

I take it you're wanting to do landscaping professionally?
OK. In the interest of looking as professional as possible, Here's what many landscapers wear:
Clean plain (or with company logo) t-shirt. No holes or "messages" on it.
Khaki colored twill trousers - long, please - long trousers as opposed to shorts will help protect you from getting nicked or gouged from flying debris and briers.
"work style" boots - no holy tennis shoes, please.
Clean ball cap - again either plain or with a company logo. No vulgar messages, please.
Gloves - leather "work" type gloves
Hearing and eye protection.
None of these are particularly expensive. But you will look neat and smart - as opposed to some reprobate shuffling around my yard. And while I don't know where you live, if you show up asking for work looking more like this than scruffy, I'd be more inclined to hire you.

shorts ....unless you have really let your grass get long...in that case it would be safer to wear pants and a tshirt (unless you have really nice abs then don't wear a shirt). For shoes, I usually wear an old pair of tennis shoes to mow our lawn.....as long as you don't wear sandals though, you should be alright.....

Something that you don't care about because it will get covered with grass.
