I noticed a girl yesterday wearing flip flops and work clothes at the coffee shop yesterday. It occurred to me that I had not been noticing a lot of flip flops around the office for a while. Last year, I was getting annoyed by the nearly constant, sweaty sounding "smack smack" of an endless parade of flip flops around the office. I have always found them WAY inappropriate for most work environments - very tacky.

Is the craze finally gone, or on its way out?

We're not really co workers, we work in the same building, but different companies. He can look over and see me though anytime he wants. When he walks by to go out to smoke & he says this if I am eating, he's done it 2 or 3 times. So I am 5'4 and my ideal weight is 123-138 and I weigh 145. He is rail thin. So I could stand to lose a few, but how rude is that?! Yesterday he said it and it was the first time I had eaten that day (AND I was eating Subway)! Should I say something? I just realized he may be saying that cause I would say something similar about him stepping out to smoke. Like "another smoke?". But come on, woman are sensitive about their weight and I wanna say "if you want to be stereotypical you would think you being british you would have some manners!" Yea I try to eat a little something for breakfast and then have lunch in an eight hour shift but they say not to skip breakfast. Yea I snack but I am not eating constantly! What should I do?

I was recently invited to a friends wedding. It was sort of a last minute invite as he and I had lost touch for a while. Unfortunately, I am currently going through a bit of a financial rough spot. I don't want to miss the wedding as we had been close friends for a long time ... but I don't have the money for a gift. What do I do?

I have some questions to deaf/hard-of-hearing ppl in the United States, Canada and elsewhere.

I apologize in ahead of time if I offend anyone but what is the "politically correct" term for deaf ppl?

(1) the deaf
(2) the hearing-impaired
(3) anything else?

Do you have a preference or is there a politically correct way to refer them?

We used to live in a somewhat quiet neighborhood, well quieter then it is now. The building next door was renovated into an apartment and now we have neigbors partying everyday, squeeling tires from their cars taking off down the road, loud cursing and yelling, and people who have no shame in nudity. Our daughter was washing dishes when the neighbors began undressing. This whole thing is very disturbing. Any suggestions?

I dont wear revealing or low-cut tops and yet when Im walking down the street i always have men staring at my chest!! I work in a serviced office and often have to deal with enquiries wanting office space and it annoys me that when I am talking to them they stare at my boobs and wont look me in the eye!

Does anyone know something that I can say that will get the point across without being nasty? (maybe a passing comment or joke perhaps) PLS HELP!!!

Okay, need advise. I have a "get over" Sister-in-law who has a husband and 4 kids. My son is getting an award and after we are having a BBQ lunch. She did not RSVP, so I emailed her and she said she, her spouse and 4 kids are coming. Then she left a message asking if all 4 kids could bring their respective boyfriends or girlfriends. (which she usually does or she makes a hug plate of food to take home to feed them.) None of the boyfriend/girlfriends have been around for more than a month.
I was bent out of shape and said "okay" with a huff. Obvious attitude was thrown her way. Am I being rude? Uptight and over anxious? Or am I valid in feeling used and put out to cook for 4 extra eaters and have weird people around who probably won't make it to the next family function. What do you think!

I always come across as kind of awkward and have no idea what to do... what do you do when someone gives you a compliment, say on having done a really good job on something?

Hello All.

I live in a flat in downtown. I am normally a very private person but the neighbors don't seem to understand this. They insist on stopping by to "say hi."

Others ask me for personal advice when I don't even know their names. One knocked om my door in the middle of the night crying because of some fight she had with her daughter. I am not inconsiderate so I listened and offered some helpful advice about the matter. Now, she comes to me with all of her problems.

I have some how become the "go-to" chick for everyone around me. I don't want this responsibility. Please help me change this situation so I can have my life back.

For that matter, a lot of women with average or even below average bodies do this. Just being witness to this gets old after awhile.

It's for my cousins baby who I've never seen and have not seen her for over 5 years. Also, if we went we were to bring a dish to pass. Or would a birthday card sent in the mail do it?

Or do you wait until they at least finish a sentence to tell them you're not interested?

(I'm a telemarketer, and I don't mind if you tell me you're not interested, but what REALLY irks me is when I'm saying, "Hi my name is ___ and I'm....(this is where the person interrupts and says) "No. We're not interested" CLICK.

You don't even know WHO I AM or WHY I'm calling! Plus, you've just interrupted me in the middle of a sentence!
I know..I know...about how everyone thinks it's the telemarketer that's rude and to some extent I agree (I'm in the process of getting another job because this is just getting to me) but still...does one person's job that YOU don't like warrant you being rude to someone just becuase they're doing their job?

My wife and I are at odds about when to eat for a family get together or holiday meal. I really don't care when. My mom's family has everything at 2:00 pm(which I do think may be a little strange, but I am taking it to the people.) Her family has the meals at noon. Let's hear it, who is crazy? The Hatfield's or The McCoy's.

there is this guy , he recently broke it off with his fiancee and to my surpise i bumped into him at the college we attend, well we parked by each other, and when we work together, there is nothing to say, he does talk to me ,well he flirts, teases, messes around with me, but nothing serious, so i assume he would n't say anything, but he waited for me and we talked on the way to class, like he was a friend but he is different at work i feel, so is he alright

maybe he would do this to other co-workers as well, some one said he is the type of guy that needs friends
