... with so much appreciation ;-)

A simple thank you, especially if it's personalized e.g. phone call, homemade thank you card, etc.

If they don't want anything in return and then Pay It Forward, just like the movie of the same name.

This song comes to mind:

"Magic Penny" by Malvina Reynolds

♪ Love is something if you give it away,
Give it away, give it away.
Love is something if you give it away,
You end up having more.

It's just like a magic penny,
Hold it tight and you won't have any.
Lend it, spend it, and you'll have so many
They'll roll all over the floor. ♪

One should send a bouquet of flowers for the appropriate amount of money and perhaps a nice gift of meaning. If there are no gifts coming to mind a gift fruit basket may suffice.

You thank them sincerely. Let them know you appreciate it. Maybe even buy or make a small gift for them. Like, bake them some cookies or something.

Simply thank you is generally enough. If the person has particularly made an impact or helped you out of a situation then I would visit and give a small gift (chocolates, etc.) and say thanks in person.
