Example: they eat all there rice first then all there chicken then all the salad- I don't know why, but this annoys me. I have to eat a bit of everything not one thing all at once.

My husband is the only person I know who does this, and yes--it bothers me. He always eats the main food (the meat, hamburger, etc.) first. By the time he gets to the side dishes (especially if we're having french fries) they're cold. It doesn't seem to bother him, but why can't he eat a bite of this and a bite of that? Who wants to eat cold food??

Doesn't bother me. However, I tend to do some of both. I'll eat a little bit of everything sometimes, especially if it's a meal like meat and potatoes, when I might even have some of both in the same bite (I know, big etiquette no-no!). But at other times, I might eat all of one thing and then all of another. I'm not consistent either way.

No, it doesn't bother me at all, the reason why is because I do it! All comes from childhood, my mum would always make sure we had at least 2 different veges with our food and I really didn't like them. So she'd tell us : 'save the best for last and eat the worst first'! So I'd eat my veges first, then save the meat for last. This has carried on to adulthood for me, but I do make a conscious effort to try to 'mix it up'. Unfortunately the best I can really do is mix my peas with mashed potatoes, as I still really don't like peas.

Haha. It doesn't really bother me but I'm with you on having to get a bit of everything in every bite. My boyfriend hates it, says I eat like a pig because my bites end up being so huge. But it's the best way!!

It seems natural to me. The reason is that growing up my grandmother never let food touch. If she had gravy, just as an example, she would turn her plate over to have eggs.

There are a lot of people out there that have these types of habits and no one, not even them really understand why.

Unlike my baby brother who has a horrible habit of mixing EVERYTHING up in one pile before he begins to eat. Now that is really gross.

Don't let such tiny unimportant things get to you. Everyone has their own preferences. When someone doesn't have the same preferences as you it's not necessarily a reason to get annoyed. It's not like they are making you eat your food section by section too. You can eat yours the way you like it and they can eat theirs the way they like it. There's no reason to let that bother you. Don't waste your life letting small things get to you.

I often eat that way, I feel I can savor the taste more. It wouldn't bother me in what order anyone else eats their food, as long as they don't make any eating noises and the like; it doesn't affect me. Try to focus on your own plate or on the conversation, to each their own!

I think you care about what everyone else is doing a little too much... Why would it bother you how someone else is eating their food if they are not being rude about it?

Personally i HATE when my food touches so i either have to have a really big plate so everything is in its restricted areas or separate plates or dishes for certain things, and when people comment on how i eat, it just annoys me. Why would someone care about something that does not in any respects effect them?

No. It would bother me to eat my food one section at a time.

Me too...It's so annoying when some people eat everything and leave the meat until last.
