Have a co-worker my age who always talks to me, teases me. The other day he got me a fruit to my desk (I can't leave the desk) becoz I was hungry. I was v touched. We do like each other, but it hasn't gone beyond. No, I don't want to date him though, and I am not even sure if he has a Gf. He has never asked me either if I have someone. He is one person though who does brighten my day. It's his birthday tomorrow. What kind of recognition would be most appropriate in this case? A little gift (like what)? A card? E-card or a paper one? Or just a verbal Happy Birthday.

Thanks so much.

I was invited to a wedding this coming Sunday, but I have no idea what to wear! It's a small wedding (50 guests, give or take) at a small church. I asked the bride if it was a casual or formal wedding, since some brides make a small wedding into a large to-do. All she said was to wear something "nice." I kind of figured that...

I seriously have nothing to wear to a wedding besides one dress, but I'm unsure about wedding guest ettiquette. Should guests wear black to a wedding?

My dress is black with red flowers all over it. It's spaghetti strapped, but not low-cut. The skirt comes just below my knees. I'm thinking about wearing a black jacket over it (to be on the conservative side) until I see what others are wearing. I'm just worried about the heat, and I don't know if the church has a/c.

Would this idea work or should I just give in and buy something new? If so, what guidelines should I follow?

Or is it permissable to go hat-free when having just had one's hair blown dry at Nicky Campbell's exclusive salon? One has standards to keep, but it would be a shame not to display Mr Campbell's fancy work.

agreed to not make me quit. He has not complained about it at all, but I have tried to smoke away from him...Does this mean I have a green light to smoke more around him...I want to so I can be more myself...should I test it out to see how it goes..I want to smoke around him, cuz I feel like I am two different people when I smoke cigarettes away from him..even though he knows about it and can smell it. I really love him and I want to complelely be myself around him..

When you think about it, TP isn't very sanitary. Would you use a dry paper towel or one soaked in disinfectant to clean a turd off the kitchen floor? Think about it!

I have a friend who is having some issues with alcohol abuse. He has made the decision to stop drinking, but has decided to continue dabbling in marijuana and a couple prescription drugs (not my choice, his, so please don't lecture me). He asked me if I had any Vicodin, and I said no. The truth is, I do have a couple left over from a surgery I had not long ago. I don't think I will be helping him by giving him drugs, and if I had said yes to having it I would have felt way too bad and given them to him. Was this a horrible thing for me to do? I pride myself on being an honest person, and now I feel like a hypocrite. I really have his best interests in mind. Thanks for any advice.

I am so tired of reading questions answers with no capitilization, no punctuation, every other word misspelled, and completely senseless abbreviations. Now, I realize that not everyone has perfect spelling or grammar, but most of the time it seems to be just pure laziness! I'm so tired of having to translate what I'm reading into regular English, and sometimes I just have no clue what the person is saying.. It's not that much work to type something properly, so that everyone can understand it.

Someone wants to look at my drawings. They're flippin' through the book right. Admiring all the pictures, etc. Then they'll say something like "I can't draw" or "You're hecka good!"

... what exactly am I supposed to say to that which won't make me sould egotistical or I don't know, sympathetic that they reportedly can't draw?

I am a pretty good artist, too, by the way its just... I never find the right thing to say to that phrase. And then sometimes people will show me their drawings, then I try my damndest to say something nice and they'll just give me this incredulous look like "SURE you mean that" and I DO but they know how I draw and I think they're comparing me to them and I get all weird feeling. What would you do in either situation? Thanks.

I've been going out with my girlfriend for two months and I've gotten to know her family rather well (mostly her many siblings, although I've not ignored her mother and father).

Yesterday her mother gave birth (in her house) and I was told it would be bad taste to visit my girlfriend without bringing a gift for the baby.

before everything! "hi friend" "thanks friend" "you bet friend". It is so annoying, I get the feeling he must of learned it from some effective communication guide, because he is also very big into using everyones name constantly, and acts very familiar with people he barely knows.

So there is this guy who isn't my boyfriend but we've been talking for a couple of months. I'm not a hoe or anything but we ended up having sex on Sunday night, it's something we'd been talking about doing for about 2 weeks and it finally happened Sunday. Today is Tuesday and he hasn't sent a text, called, or IMed me. My question is should I call? And if so when? OR should I just wait for him to call me (i really don't want to I'm a little nervous)? I don't know what to do because he's not my boyfriend or anything! HELP!

I was in a lunch line type of deal and ready to get some milk and the lady was like, what milk would you like and the guy in front of me said she could use some fat free milk. You need to get some skim milk for yourself. Why did he say that? What would you have done in that situation?

Sometimes when people ask my opinion about certain things, I tell a white lie.
Someone may ask, "What do you think about my haircut?"
I say, "It is so cute!"
But I am thinking: "It looks like it could be a nest for an ostrich."
Or someone may ask: "Why don't boys ask me out?"
I say, "Because they don't know the real you!"
I think: "Because you whine too much about not being asked out."
Of course, if I said that latter statement aloud, I probably would lose a friend.
Should I be brutally honest, or lie all the time? I feel fake when I say things I don't mean.

I had a flat tire and this nice young man came out in 90 degree afternoon, southern heat and not only offered help but insisted. It is nice to see that there are still gentlemen around. I would like to send him a special thank you because I didn't have any money on me at the time. What would be appropriate? He is roughly between ages 19-25.

It is my job to know everyone in the company because I work in the mail room. I've worked there almost 8 years and its been the same. All I ever get is an occasional "hi". Very few ever ask my advise or start a conversation if other people are around. The only time they're friendly is when they need something. The new people will be friendly for about a week or two, then they act like i'm furniture. Sometimes I'll stopoff at a office party to try to start a conversation but then they'll start talking to someone else. Before I started working there I was very popular, in school and other jobs.

Say your at a bar and your by yourself and there are plenty of open sit around you, but for some reason someone comes in and sit "RIGHT" next to you and orders a drink (Invading your space) There should be a buffer zone among strangers in bar ( until it gets croweded)
