I think the green light means he loves you just the way you are. He may not like it for health reasons. He sounds like a keeper. I smoke and I can relate to how you feel. There are some people that have a hard time with the smell. I know that smoking is bad for me. However, I limit the number I smoke and where I smoke and everything is fine. Good luck with this.

My husband hated that I smoked, but never made me quit. I however respected the fact that he did not want to smell like a cigarette and would not smoke around him. Eventually, I had enough self control and will power and quit on my own and for myself.

Your relationship won't last because most non-smokers detest the smell, the hassle of being with a smoker, and the way they taste when they kiss.
I once was engaged to a 'every now and then smoker' that rarely smoked around me but it came more and more frequent for him to smoke around me. It turned me off so bad. I finally broke up with him. I have NEVER dated another smoker again! That's a deal breaker. He was the first and last smoker.
Your boyfriend may like you enough to think he can deal with it but chances are he'll get sick of you and the smell/taste.

I'm sure your bf has his reasons for not smoking. So you need to ask him if it bothers him to smoke around him. Some people are allergic to smoke or have asthma. If you want to be your self around him, then ask him. But if he prefers you to smoke away from him, you are still being your self, but just respecting his wishes. My husband smokes, and use to smoke in the house, until the children came. And it's a good thing I can breath better (asthma) and our daughter is allergic to smoke.

Well, I agree with what the others have said, he does sound like a good guy, for not complaining about the smell. Anyway, maybe it would be a good idea if you asked him if it would bother him if you smoked in front of him.

I'm a smoker and I'm all for smokers' rights, but I don't think you should subject your new boyfriend to your second hand smoke just so you can "be yourself." You can be yourself the other 99% of the time when you're not smoking, but please don't smoke around him if he's a non-smoker and doesn't enjoy it...it's really not fair.

when sitting at your house ask if he minds if you smoke. tell him you are willing to smoke outside if it bothers him. i smoke and my fiance doesnt and he doesnt mind me smoking in the house. however we do have an air purifier and i always have a oil burner going to help eliminate the smell.

If he does not like it I would not smoke around him.
Just because he agreed to not make you quit is not a green light to puff away around him.
