Or is it permissable to go hat-free when having just had one's hair blown dry at Nicky Campbell's exclusive salon? One has standards to keep, but it would be a shame not to display Mr Campbell's fancy work.

If one can afford the handywork of Mr Clarke then it is one's duty to look gorgeous and radiate between the rows of freezers. One must make a statement to the uncultured barnets in the supermarket. The hat will ruin your new creation, though if it is windy you may wear a hat from the car to the supermarket.

Keep the standards!!!

One should show off part of one's hair and keep a hat that would display the work of art on one's head.

Hats in Sainsbury's?
This isn't Stepford wives territory!

Surely Sainsbury's only exists to keep the riff-raff out of Waitrose.
(as heard on the R4 News quiz last week)

Of course you do not have to wear a hat, especially if you have just had your hair done, or it would be pointless having it styled just to wear a hat and flatten it

No.One should always wear a hay, so that one's head will not get cold when looking in the freezer section.
