My husband is finally graduating college and the whole family is coming to see him. We live three hours away from everyone, and a hour away from the college, so my house is not an option.

He would like to have a large dinner afterwards, (instead of a casual party at a park) but we are not in a position to pay for 30 people to eat dinner.

How can I word the invitations so people know that they will be paying for themselves if they choose to join us for dinner?

It seems to be a growing fad in our suburban area to put a registry list and gift ideas on children's birthday party invitations. Our son has recently been invited to 3 parties where the invites include places where the child is registered, clothing sizes, and favorite colors, action figures and so on.
To me, this seems a little "out there" for children's parties. While I understand children do sometimes receive multiple gifts of a certain item, giving me a registry list to a very upscale children's clothing boutique where the cheapest item is listed at $50 seems a little outrageous. I cannot imagine these 5 and 6 yr. olds chose to go register for their party, so is this growing trend really just a fad or something that is happening other places?

Really, if a person had manners and respect wouldn't you feel happy, and feel respected, and want to get to know that person more?

There is a miserable old man that works the overnight shift at my job. I work his two days off and he always has something to complain about me. He leaves my work on a table, for everyone to see, and then has someone else tell me what he said I did wrong. I also take pride in keeping my supplies filled up for everyone to use (and refill when necessary), but after he's done, there are all empty containers and he never has bothered to fill them.. it really bothers me. What should I do? I never see him to confront him.

A childhood friend is getting married. We became close friends during a certain time of our life. During this time, she was very shallow and mean but I really needed a friend. Relunctantly, I later asked her to be a part of my wedding. Since then, we have grown apart and the last time I saw her she behaved very coldly. Now, she is getting married. In light of our last encounter, I just don't know how to respond in gift giving. I have sent a gift already costing around $60 but am torn because she was a part of my wedding. She made me feel very bad about myself and it really breaks my heart because I want to lovingly give. What should I do?

My sister-in- law is having a baby shower in April. Last night she called & left a message asking when we were going to send her gift. A few hours later she text my husband and told us that there mother said that the “gift’s” have to be there for the shower and that they have to be nice and there has to be two, one from my husband and I the other from there grandparents.

I was going to get her a nice stroller that was over $100, $75 from us and $75 from the grandparents. After those messages, I feel like just sending her a bib and bottle and calling it a day, I am so mad that she would be so greedy.

When I had my first shower she insisted on buying a crib for me but never did. I had to run out a week before I had my daughter to buy one(I never did get anything) and for my 2nd shower she sent a set of baby bottles. I never asked her to get me anything and never expected it either.

Am I over reacting? Should I just suck it up and get the stroller?

I'm so fed up with adults asking "Am i getting on a bit" or "Do you think i'm old". I

'm 16, but i would love to be in my 20's and 30's, so why can't we just be happy with our ages?

I have this friend who's got dogs and they're newspaper trained. Every Sunday she goes driving around at night to find a Newspaper stand in the street *You know those little machines by the curb* Well, she pays for one but takes more than one. She'd grab either the whole stack like 5-6. I'd tell her you're only suppose to take one. But her excuse is it's 9pm and if nobody takes them the Newspaper people will recycle them anyways to refill it with Mondays paper. But I'm just curious is it right to take more than one Newspaper from those stands ? Even if she's right and they throw them out or recycle the old leftover papers. You'd paid for one then she should only get one ... Right ?? What's your opinions about this ? Please, reply ! ( ' u ' )

I read a story earlier about a lady who died on a flight shortly after take off and her body was moved from economy class to first class for the rest of the journey. Why did they not land and take the body off? If you have a few drinks and stand up to the bullying staff they are quick enough to turn the plane round to chuck you off so why not for a dead person?

I sit on the Health and Safety commitee at work and have just seen someone running through the office. I dont like the bloke if I'm honest so I was thinking of reporting it. I dont snitch on people but he is a particularly disagreeable character. I wouldnt normally ask but I'm bored.

I got asked to stand up in a friends wedding. There is a good chance, for financial reasons that they will end up not getting married or waiting awhile instead. She insists that we purchase $150 dresses (bridesmaids) now, so they will be in on time for her August wedding. If she does cancel, or postpone the wedding and the dresses are nonrefundable, should she have to reimburse us for insisting we purchase them now when the wedding is not definite yet? The dresses are also not attractive at all and not something any of us would ever wear again.
