I live in an apartment complex.
Guy that lives next door has a loud stereo and throws parties every Friday and Saturday night.
On week nights I go to bed at 11 and on weekends by around midnight - 1am.
I called the management patrol people a few times and they ended his party. But he became pretty irate and things got testy. He still throws his damned parties every weekend till late hours at night and it's impossible to sleep.

He basically told me he doesn't give a isht about what I think about the noise.

What should I do?

He told me hes taken photos of models, becausei told him ive done some modeling, so he said he would take pics of me. I just said Im so busy. I feel too weird having him take pics- hes not professional.. and what if somethign weird happend..Then another day he told me he can take photos of some of my artwork and he gave me his card with his website on it. I didnt know what to say so i said ill email you..Well i checked it out and his website and work was awful. I was kinda freaked out..I didn't email him because I felt uncomfortable. I told my Mom about this and she told me not too get involved with him.. I kinda feel bad though, i feel weird seeing him. I want to avoid him now..
Was he hitting on me? did i do the right thing or was i kinda rude to him?

I Think this is really screwed up.......

I go to a High School and our dress code says that girls skirts can not be above their finger tips by our side. first of all this is not fair because some girls have longer/shorter arms than others, but thats a differnet story. Ok so there have been a nuber of girls having to call home, to have their parents bring them pants. the skirts were above their finger tips, yes. but, they were wearing leggings underneath. so why did they have to change? arn't leggings covering you up? people used to wear leggings w/o skirts back in the 80s, so wearing a skirt on top should cover up the girls butts and make the school people happy. so i dont think its fair that girls that are all coverd up should have to go home.

we have this lady that walks around the halls all day long and its her job to break up fights, catch skippers, and inforce the dress code. shes the one who makes us call home,

It seems that when I go out , I get at least one hateful glare or dirty look from a complete stranger. I am not white , but I dress nice , I have good hygene, and I act polite. I don't understand why people give me these stares that they obviously don't like me. I am not ugly. I am just average looking.

When invited for dinner by friends we also call over, after dinner they clean up EVERYTHING while we are still arnd. offers to help are refused. Is not a hint to leave. they want us to hang around while they get the sink/dishwshr ALL done, garbage chngd, counters wiped, china putaway...
Like, when we leave they can shut the door & go straight to bed. AFTER that, they want to socialize/chat.
My husband says that their way of doing it, respect it.
I have no problem, but I feel when they start cleaning up,
I can also start to leave (kids & a drive).

They and we have set aside time to meet/chat. We shld focus on that after a 10-15 min basic cleanup, table cleared, put away perishables.
I leave the detailed cleanup for later. This might not be everyone's style, I know. But, I also refuse to wait around while they detail-cleanup. they've invited me, thanks, I also have made the time to come over & will host too.

Is it the norm to do all cleanup while guests are around?

Like, if you notice that someone has gained weight, would you consider it rude to make a comment to her about it?

Or if a guy's hairline is receding, would you comment on that?

Personally, I wouldn't. But a few years ago, I stopped paying attention to what I ate and gained some extra pounds. Someone I used to go to church with saw me in the store one day and made a comment about it. If he hadn't done that, I probably wouldn't have thought to cut back and get the weight off. That's what makes me raise the question.

I live in an aprtment building with 25 apartments, everyone pretty much minds their own business. There are a couple of neighbours who are very nosey. I used to feel a long time ago that I had to drop everything and talk to them, now i feel ashamed i gave out info to them. I just want to come and go and not talk to anyone, I have nothing in common with these people. I have had a job that starts at 6am and i come back around 10 pm.. One nosey lady has asked my roommate if im still living here about 10 times already... When i see her outside I wont even go into the building because she tries to get info out of me..
I even listen at my door to make sure no one is outside, if they are i will wait till they leave. I have avoided them this way.. Am I being rude? How can I handle these people without them prying into my life and asking me personal questions?
I want them to know nothing about me.

my friend threw out a little present (very little, small gift i just gave to be nice, no occassion) i gave her. when i asked her why she threw it out, she said she doesn't do gifts, because she thinks they are "tacky". I was really insulted. She didn't really seem to care about what i thought of her disposal of my gift. On some level i think she did it on purpose because we had an argument 2 weeks earlier.
the argument was about something entirely different, i thought she was okay, in fact i asked her a few times if everything was okay and i told her to let me know if somethng was bothering her. she denied it, but then did this and is acting all standoffish. I'm guessing she is still upset.
so...
1. what does she mean she thinks gifts are tacky?
2. do you think this has more to do with the argument or do you think she was telling the truth about finding gifts tacky?
3. is this just a passive aggressive way of showing she is still mad at me (even though she DENIES she's mad)???

No matter what kind of place I go to, there's kids who just carry on and run around and the parents are completely unconcerned. I expect this at Chuck E. Cheese, but not at a nicer place, or even the average "chain" like Chilis or Applebees. Even an upscale place invariably has undisciplined spawn running and screaming and carrying on. What happened to disciplining your kids and having respect for other people who are dining?

we are going to a resort for a competition that my husband is competing in and his company is paying for it all. I've never been to anything this upscale before, and I am a little unsure about tipping techniques and how much crap gets talked when no tip is given in case I forget. Does the fact that his company is paying for it change anything?

So, I'm thinking my mom & I should get a place together. I'd beable to get my debts paid off, and she wouldn't have to struggle with her bills. Which would be great. But then we'd both lose our privacy and after a few years I'm going to want to have my own place again. And where would that leave my mom?
She's retired, by the way.
So, should I, or should'nt I?
What do ya'll think?
