So, I'm thinking my mom & I should get a place together. I'd beable to get my debts paid off, and she wouldn't have to struggle with her bills. Which would be great. But then we'd both lose our privacy and after a few years I'm going to want to have my own place again. And where would that leave my mom?
She's retired, by the way.
So, should I, or should'nt I?
What do ya'll think?

If it helps you both financially, absolutely.

Lay down the ground rules first, you need to let her know that you are planning on making this a committment of only a few years.

Get a two bedroom place, with bedrooms on opposite sides of each other if possible. Maybe by the time you are ready to move out, she will have been able to stash a bit more away (yes, even though she is retired, she can invest!) so that she can find a place of her own.

Good luck.

if possible rent a house, then u both have your own space, and make sure u set up rules ahead of time that u both can agree with or its not going to work out. if u cant get a house try for a big apt, just so you both have the space u need.
i would if it saved money, not with my mom, shes still in the 50s!!!!!!

Go ahead and do it. Neither of you will lose anything. If you go your separate ways after a couple of years, then you will both have money saved.
