Yes, I have. Never was served something with hairs in it, neither cat nor human. But, my kids and I did not like the turkey stuffing that had lots of cinnamon in it. Nor, the meatloaf with the brown sugar slathered deeply all over the top of it.
We ate it. I was proud of my kids,

It is insulting to refuse food offered in someone's home. In some countries, a guest is required to eat anything offered to them, or risk insulting the host.
That being said, eating a few cat hairs would probably not kill you, although the thought might give your stomach a rumble or two. If it is that detestable, one can excuse themselves to the bathroom momentarily. When you emerge, you can say, "I am so sorry, but I am feeling ill all of the sudden. I'm afraid I can't eat a thing right now. Perhaps it would be better if I just had a little tea, and you could wrap this delicious meal for me to take with me".

When you go to someones house, you should always eat what is prepared. If it something you know you are not going to like , just take a small portion ,and tell them your stomach has been a little "off" If it is something new or different do the same, take a small portion, try it you might like it. If not , just eat what you took and take no more. There is nothing more insulting to a host than for someone to say I don't like that, after she/he has put a lot of time and thought into what they prepare. Just be polite, and have a big glass of water on hand to wash it down!

Yes, and I regretted it afterward. I either say I have a food allergy to some ingredient, or I nibble politely and say I'm not feeling well/not very hungry. I praise the food as looking and smelling very appetizing, but beg off with a convenient excuse. I try to leave early, so I can stop somewhere for a burger.

Yes, I have. I only eat a little bit though and then excuse myself from eating the rest. A lot of times people are more perceptive than you think and probably know you do not like what they made. Just thank them for their hospitality and be on your way.

No, I like almost everything! Only if it were really inedible like way too salty or totally burned, but in that case it's hard to think the cook wouldn't notice.... I don't think I have any friends who'd serve a dinner full of hairs, not sure what I'd do if that happened. I don't think I'd care about one or two, I'm not a picky eather in that way either ::shrug::

Yes I surely have. I was always told to at least eat a little bit of something that someone gives you in their home. It's just the polite thing to do. Unless you are allergic or it is against your religious beliefs to eat it, just a little nibble will not kill you.

Ew! That's the worst!
Yes, I'm a very picky eater and everything grosses me out so I've had to just grin and bear it MANY times.
One of my aunts bakes me a cheese cake every single year for my birthday because she heard me say once that I love it, but I actually only like the No Bake kind that you serve chilled, I can't stand the baked kind! Still, I eat it anyway because I couldn't possibly turn my nose up at her generous birthday gift, right? ;)

Usually when I'm at another's house, I excuse myself from accepting any food. But then that in itself is controversial because it may insult them. If I do accept a plate, and it's something I do not like, I tend to nibble a little bit, yes to be polite, but then once again I excuse myself and say I'm not really hungry. >_<
Resturaunt-wise, I never order anything new. I'm stubborn. xD

I'm weak and polite. Unless it's someone I'm VERY comfortable around, I'll eat it. If it taste horrible I just push it to the back of my throat and try to swallow. If there happens ot be anything wrong (cat hair as you had happen) I nibble around and try to ignore it. And I get "full" very fast.
