I ask that same question all the time. Parents have failed to teach their children manners from the start; they grow into rude adults. That being said, adults can easily establish an alternative choice of behavior. I just don't get it.

I live in a town where there are a lot of retired older people but also a good amount of young people are moving in. The older people definitely have better manners than the 20 some and younger. I wonder, who had been raising these children that they have little knowledge of manners and social acceptance. Were these children raised by a parent or raised in child care facilities.

In the office where I work manners are pretty good. On the street less so. Personally, I meet more people with good manners than without.

Most people I encounter have okay manners. I hate to say this, but the people who are most likely to have few manners, are people younger then 25.

I encounter more busy and stressful people everyday. Because they are so busy and stressed, they forget to mind their manners.
