Most likely to tip when there is too much weight with it raised above the centre of mass of the base machine.

The capacity of a fork truck changes (decreases) as you raise your load. As you raise the load the center of effort moves forward toward the load. If it happens while you are driving don't try to jump out of the driver area. Hopefully you have a seat belt on by the way, lock your arms and legs and try to stay within the driver's area.

by travelling forward with forks raised and a load equal to the counterweight on the back end and then hitting the brakes hard. or by lifting a load exceeding the rating of the trucks capability.

you're fork truck will in basic terms prefer mot/tax if used better than 150m from the region and has to commute by ability of highway, it should be insured as plant mechinary and have have loler certificates no rely if that is not any longer insured for use do no longer use it

I could see a fork lift tipping if someone loaded the forks with too much weight... and if the forks were raised.......?!?!?

this happened to me,the weight in front weighs more the the weight in the back.it can be compensated by keeping the lift low to the ground from tipping forward.tipped forward also done by driving backwards.
