My 15 mnth old daughter had the MMR shot last tuesday...(8 days ago) her pcp said it might take a week for the usual fever/rash to show up...but since the day after (wednesday) she's had very very loose stools.
She tends to have loose stools when something in her body changes anyway (lack of sleep, new food, a cold, ect), and I know she has a sensative stomach..but it seems excessive now...
No fevers, but she doesn't want to eat much, and she's sleeping horribly (not wanting to nap)
I asked my sister-in-law about her daughter's reaction, and she said Kelsie had the loose stools for a month after the shot! Has this happened to anyone else? Is this normal? I really don't want to call the doctor because when I do call I feel dumb, since they tell me "as long as she's peeing, drinking and acting normal she's fine"
it's just loose, not watery-diarrhea..sorta like when she was a newborn...any ideas?

My 18 month old son has always had problems with poop. He goes 3+ times a day, and his poop burns his bottom. We always change him immediately, but he always gets a red butt, and sometimes (like now) he gets open blisters. I can't stand it. It hurts him so much. He screams when we clean him up (even just putting on desitin) and refuses to sit down in his bath tub. We had him to a gastroenterologist last spring, but the Dr. acted like he was still in the normal range. My pedi doesn't act very concerned when I tell her about it either. He is otherwise healthy, active, and happy.....but this is killing us. I hate seeing him suffer with this. Do any other kids have this problem? Is this actually normal? What can we do?

My friends ex took his 2 year old little girl away that he had been sharing 50% custody for 7 months with and had been there with her from birth. He loves his girl like his own damn child which wow it is she's being selfish and sais shes taking the child away because she sais she's afraid her child will get hurt because he drinks. He is in my opinion like any other great dad with his own life going on with a new girlfriend in their own apartment. The little girl has her own room.

what are the laws on this kinda thing about kidnapping or what are his rights on this situation and what should he do to get her back because it is his week to have her like they have been agreeing on untill the change on x-mas eve started with the ex girlfriend the mother of his little girl.

I need some ideas on what I can cook for dinner for my family, which is myself, my husband and my 18 month old daughter. My daughter is getting to be a picky eater and I myself don't eat much beef or red meat. My daughter is really on a schedule as far as when she has dinner, so I usually have less than an hour to have dinner done. I have never been good at cooking, but really want to learn some easy/quick recipes to start with. Any ideas?

My lil bro just turned 3, and we are happy that he is consistently peeing in the potty but he just won't poop in the potty! He always holds it until he has a diaper on, such as at night.

for Christmas. I tried to make it work on her tiny bed but it's just way too big. I have decided to just give the comforter to my older daughter until my toddler goes into a twin bed. The comforter is so cute and I would hate it having to not be used for another year. Is this wrong, should I just make it work as best I can on her bitty bed or fold it up and put it in the closet until my toddler is in a big bed? Or does it not matter me using it for my older daughter? I told my parents when they went shopping that she was in a toddler bed and they bought the comforter anyway. What would you do?

My daughter is 3 1/2 and has patches of what looks like cradle cap on her scalp. I have been using Selsum Blue on it for weeks and it helped a litte. The patches are coming off and taking her hair with it which is causing her to have a small bald spot on the top of her head. Any suggestions on products to use or insight to what it might be and how to get rid of it.

The other day my daughter got excited and fell back and hit her head on the brick fireplace. She got to crying so hard that she wasnt breathing. She has done this before but it went on longer this time to wear she was turning blue. She kinda went limp and lifeless for about 5 seconds. After she calmed down and started beathing again she went back to normal crying. It scared me to death. Usually when she starts to crying like that we blow in her face but she was crying to hard for that to work this time. Has this ever happened to you? A while back the doctor said it was normal but Im not sure about the passing out thing.

I have a 3 year old and have lived in this street now for 8 months...theres a woman over the road who has a 4 year old girl..they are a lovely family...we have spoken in the street and although my 3 year old is a bit shy, she and the other child seem to like each other....problem is I am also a little bit shy and so is the other girls Mother!
We exchanged christmas cards...just popped them through the letterbox...but I would really like to get to a place where the kids can play with each other...in their gardens obviously they are too little to play in the street.
How do I approach this? My little girl starts nursery in January but it is a different one to the neighbour....they could always play together in the afternoon or something....should I just ask the neighbour and her little girl round for coffee? Help me to get the nerve up to do it! I know it is silly but I feel so shy in this sort of situation!

What is up w/ childrens clothes, they are just mini adult clothes! I have a 4 and 2 year old and I can not find a regular pair of jeans for my 4 year old to save my life, I have looked everywhere! I do not want my 4 year old little girl wearing lowrise jeans w/ belly and cleavage showing shirts! I want my girls to dress as the cute little girls they are not 25 year old adults! I am not a prude, I like low rise jeans...on adults not children. I have to by there shirts bigger so they will be long so there bellies or bums aren't hanging out! I haven't run in to the problem w/ my 2 year old since she is still in the baby sizes by my 4 year old is now in the regular childrens sizes and I cant find age apropriate clothes anywhere! Does anyone else agree w/ me on this one, and if you know where to get regular kids jeans (not lowrise!) I would love to know where!

My boyfriend has a 5 yr old kid that has some pretty severe behavior problems - we have been working with him for 2 years now - counseling, etc. He is finally showing signs of improvement and now his mom got pregnant. A large percentage of this child's problem is that he lacked attention for the first 3+ years of his life by both his parents. I am afraid he is going to regress with the new baby - even if his parents are doing better with him. Has anyone been thru this and any words of advice on how we can prepare him for this big event?

I went over to my grandma's house yesterday to find that my two-year-old cousin is getting dozens of gifts, just from her.

I mean, I don't care how much I get, I really don't, but that two year old already gets whatever he wants. He's very spoiled. When he gets to five years old, I imagine him running around the house screaming at the top of his lungs, "I WANT IT NOW! GIVE IT TO ME!"

I don't know, I just think that a two year old shouldn't get so much stuff, escpecially when they're already spoiled.

my daughter is conquering my fear of the dark!

for many logical reasons- i am terrified of the dark meaning--- no shadows on the wall
---- no doors ajar or blinds open into darkness
------ must have nightlight at least or full light on to sleep
-----had night terrors nightly for at least 10 years

i wont go into a dark room to reach around for a light switch

BUT--- my baby girl has no fear of darkness nor does she have a reason
so when she walks into a dark place or shuts the tv in middle of the night.
i laugh and play with her
and realise-- i am in complete darkness
but she is safe
and i have nothing to fear
and it is working out but i just think wow
a 15 month old can help me to not be afraid bc SHE is brave

and that is so amazing to me

and i know that others have stories like that
so please share

"Mommy... Santa isn't real. It's physically impossible to arrive at every household in the world at midnight on the same night. And what about the homeless people? He can't possibly know where they are at any given moment".

Yes, she used those big words, we caught it all on tape. Too smart for her own good? Going to be made fun of for being a nerd in school? My husband and I both acheived 4.0's all throughout high school and college, but I thought that was hard work... not genes. She says and does other intelligent things as well, far beyond her age. How do I make sure her brilliance is not ignored in the public schooling system? In my area, public schooling is actually better than private.

My daughter is almost 3 and I dont want a 3 year old in diapers!! She just won't go. She likes being wet and having poop in her underwear and pee running down her legs I guess. And she likes her potty chair but she just plays with it and wont go on it. She also wont go on the regular potty. I have tried rewards and everything!! I give up. I even took a week off work to potty train her and it isnt working. I have to go back to work in 2 days. And I am tired of buying diapers! They are too expensive for me to keep buying.
