my son wont go to sleep for nothing. every other night he passes out with in 20 minutes not tonight what gives he is 4 almost 5

my son is 4 too and he is doing the same thing, i put him in his room to bed and every 5 minutes he comes out and says "i can't sleep, i'm hungry" ot i'm thirsty, or some sort of excuse. My 11yr old knows that i am santa so he goes to sleep rather quickly.
Give him some warm milk and lay with him until he does fall asleep, i'll do that with my son in about 20minutes if he keeps coming out.
ADD: Yikes! i know how that is i'm 7 months pregnant and finding a comfy place to ly down is so so so hard. I would then tell your son Santa will pass right by the house if he doesn't go to sleep or let him stay awake with you a bit later, hopefully he'll sleep in a bit in the morning if you give in a let him sleep a bit longer although that may not happen my kids got up at 4am last yr to open gifts.

lol. This is such a fun night for us with kids! My daughter is 8 and she was watching Santa cross the globe. When he got close to our time zone, I sent her to bed. She tried desperately to sleep, lol. She was not alseep when he 'got here', but I she doesn't know that. She is asleep now though and northpole.com says santa is now in the USA. So I guess all the US kids are running to bed now too. lol

Tell him that santa wont come unless hes sleeping in his bed. If that dosent work, lay dont with him and sing or talk untill he falls a sleep.

I don't have kids but I'm sure if I did, and I wasn't Jewish, I would have a hard time getting them to sleep tonight.

it's 10:30 and my 8-year-old is still awake (though she's been lying in bed with the lights out for two hours....)
hence why i've been assigned to sit here in the hallway being sentry while my husband sets up toys downstairs....
