for Christmas. I tried to make it work on her tiny bed but it's just way too big. I have decided to just give the comforter to my older daughter until my toddler goes into a twin bed. The comforter is so cute and I would hate it having to not be used for another year. Is this wrong, should I just make it work as best I can on her bitty bed or fold it up and put it in the closet until my toddler is in a big bed? Or does it not matter me using it for my older daughter? I told my parents when they went shopping that she was in a toddler bed and they bought the comforter anyway. What would you do?

I would put in on the big bed and then go buy something new for the toddler bed. Just explain to your Mom that you dont want to NOT use it- it's too pretty!
I would not keep it on the toddler bed though- she may get tangled up in it at night.

Our parents (our kid's grandparents) are somewhat far removed from parenting as we see it today. If your folks are like my folks, they probably thought twin and toddler bed was the same thing.

Personally, I would fold it up and put it in the closet until your toddler is in a big bed but if you cant wait that long and your older one is in need of a comforter then go ahead and use it. Just do what feels right. After all, as a parent you should have ultimate say on what goes on in your household.

I actually would fold the blanket in half and still use it, especially if the child really liked it and want to use it. I mean really, who cares that the blanket drags the ground? I understand that it might look a lil messy, or that you dont want it to get ruined. But any blanket at this age over the next few years run the risk of being ruined regardless.

If it is something special like hand made, then I would put it up til she older even if it did fit the bed. But, if it is just a standard storebought blanket, and she really likes or wants to use, just go ahead and use it.

I'm going through the same predicament since my two year old just broke his crib because he bounces in it. I suggest a toddler bed since there really is no point to a crib when your child will be out of it in a couple months, if not weeks.

i would put it up till the child could use it. no i don't think it's odd at all. or your other child coul use it. i don't think it matters. what ever you want to do with it. and i would use it any way. buying a comforter for a toddler bed is hard to find, many stores don't carry them. i think they did the best they could.

Just talk to them about it and see what they want to do. Maybe they didn't even notice that it was so big. It could have been a matter of just grabbing the wrong one off the shelf at the store.

I would save it for the bigger bed. Actually at age two it shouldn't be long until a she is in a big bed, she could be now.

the comforter wasn't intended for the older child. use it when you can -it will fit on the bed if you are not too picky.

just tell your mom... "i'm afraid the comforter you got for suzy's bed is just too big--should i go ahead and use it on mary's bed? it's so lovely, i hate to put it away."

That is just wrong your child is two and well, she still mest sleep in the crib.......unless she is wise enough to tame herself from falling or rolling off from the bed
