my daughter is conquering my fear of the dark!

for many logical reasons- i am terrified of the dark meaning--- no shadows on the wall
---- no doors ajar or blinds open into darkness
------ must have nightlight at least or full light on to sleep
-----had night terrors nightly for at least 10 years

i wont go into a dark room to reach around for a light switch

BUT--- my baby girl has no fear of darkness nor does she have a reason
so when she walks into a dark place or shuts the tv in middle of the night.
i laugh and play with her
and realise-- i am in complete darkness
but she is safe
and i have nothing to fear
and it is working out but i just think wow
a 15 month old can help me to not be afraid bc SHE is brave

and that is so amazing to me

and i know that others have stories like that
so please share

I have a niece that is 6 she has grown to love me. When I walk in she smiles and gets all happy and excited. Once she yelled out "Oh, my David is here!" lol. That was so cute. I play with her and listen to her read and she is so funny! She also does not like foolish people or what she thinks is foolish. I have seen her look at her older sister who is about 9 or 10 and when her older sister does something stupid she will just look over at and roll her eyes and grin a little. It's so funny!! She has made me see and realize that I would love to have a little girl one day. I mean chances are I'll spoil her and be the dad with a shot gun at the door when she starts dating, but I think it would be so wonderful to have a little girl. I know my answer is not as good as what you told, but that is something a child has done for me. She has shown me the love, innocence, and humor that children have and has made me hope that one day I will have one of my own. =)

I had my son at a young age. I was already into drugs and skipping school. When I found out i was pregnant all that changed, instantly ! No more drugs , got my GED and went to community college. Now I work as a 911 operator and his dad and i have been together for 15 years. Thank God for my son !

she has taught me exactly what it feels like to have your heart walking around independently from your body. and to have patience cause just when you get frustrated and think nothing else can get messed up or go wrong they find a chair, get into the silverware drawer and fling spoons at you!!! so there is no use getting all worked up cause it can and probably will get more frustrating and then when the irritating moment has passed you will laugh your behind off at what strange thing your baby discovered.

My girls taught me patience. There is nothing better than two newborns screaming at once to teach you how to stay calm in times of stress!
