he is a little delayed in talking. he barely knows how to say "Pee-pee" or "caca(poop)" and some other words but can't say any sentences yet.but i dont know is it because here we speak three different languages that is making him be delayed on speaking or what? And when he turns 3 he is going to go to a pre-k (if he gets accepted).but I tryed sitting him in the toilet with a small toilet seat on it. and i ask him if he want to go and i dont want to scare him because i know if he does he wont want to go. and he is my oldest one. So moms out there please help me we are a young family. i'm 23. We would really apperciated your help.

I had a hard time teaching my boy. He is always throwing everything he can get hold of. He is really stubbon i used to spank his hand if he throw anything but it does not work. He won't cry, he won't stop throwing, and worst he beat me back. Untill few days ago i didn't spank his hand when he start throwing the tv controller. Instead i scolded him and walk away into my room. Then he start crying and come to me showing he was sorry and stop the throwing. So i use the same method now when he did something wrong. So far it works but I'm worry that very fast he will not care. What other method do you have beside spanking?

My twenty nine month old has begun waking at night, screaming and crying saying she is scared. Everything I have read suggests to go in comfort them and then leave (assuming their kids are still in a crib ) but she is in her own bed and will come out of her room and shut the door behind her. If I pick her up comfort her and put her back to bed she will just get up screaming and crying and we repeat this over and over again. It has been waking everyone up and I am sooo exhausted. What can I do?

I am a single mom (within the last year) raising a 5 year old daughter who has always had a very strong personality. She's always been the bossy leader type. I have always and still do insist that she use her manners and remind her if she does not. I don't know how or when, but some how my daughter has gain control. Mostly in public places and when around others is usually when she will not listen and seems to be completely oblivious to anything I say. It can be very embrassing and frusterating for me at times. I need suggestions. Any recommendations on really good effective books I could read?

I have a 2 yr old son and we also have a puppy. We play with the puppy together, and it would lick my face when it's happy. My son gave me a lick instead of a kiss yesterday!! I think he's imitating the puppy. How do I teach him not to?

I have a daughter who is 2 and,
I heard that toddlers/infants can get Urinary Tract Infections from having been given a bubble bath.
do you know how true if at all this is?
cause my daughter really enjoys the bubbles in her bath water and I'd hate to take them away. :)
I heard it from a nurse at our local hospital.

Every dentist office I called said that she has to be atleast 5 yrs old. My problem is that my family gets cavities easily. And unfortunately she has cavities, doesn't help that my mom gives her candy but I still brush her teeth and floss them. I know they're just baby teeth and will fall out but it looks bad and I don't want it to get to the point where she's in pain and can't eat. I need help with this. Also my other problem is she freaks out at doctor visit and I have to hold her. I can't take her to the dentist like that can I?

I have a two and a half year old son. He is ready to be potty trained. But he wouldn't sit on the potty seat. I have gotten a potty seat of his favourite character, but no luck. He says he is scared of the potty seat.

I have let him run around without a diaper, and he has been peeing all over the place.

I have offered him several incentives to sit on the potty seat - like listen to his favourite song on iPod, buy him his favourite toys, etc. But no luck.

Should I continue persisting? I am afraid I will make him even more scared. I haven't used force, but I am asking him everyday if he would like to sit on the potty seat.

My daughter is 15 months old. She is a very good eater and loves her juice. Occasionally, she will get a strange rash across the area above her vagina and the next diaper change there will be a red blotch. A couple of times this red blotch ends up becoming a open sore. I've tried the Johnson and Johnson Diaper rash cream (active ingred. Zinc Oxide) and Gold Bond Baby Powder. She screams and crys when I change her diaper. Once the diaper is changed she still crys for about 10 minutes max. I have tried changing diapers and taking all acidic foods and juices away from her but neither of these have really helped. I need HELP seriously!!! It breaks my heart to have her cry so hard that she makes herself sick. I don't know what I can do to help until tomorrow when I (hopefully) can get her into the Dr. Please help!!!

My son who will be turning 4 next month is weighing in at 58 lbs. the doctor sees no real concern only to offer him healthy foods and so on. but I'm alarmed! I'm at 200 lbs. 5'8" large framed and my Husband at 6'1" 240 lbs also Larged fromaed we knew our children where gonna be big but I don't want him to be larger than he should be... he is 45" tall which is very tall for his age also. he is very active! we doing things together, our favorite is skating. which we do 4-5 times a week 2-3 hours at a time.( he infact is the fastest skater in the 8 and under group. ) When it comes to eating he can out eat me and I feel like I'm punishing him when I tell him no to seconds. most mom's I've told this to just laugh since they struggle to get their child to eat. what's worse is my stepfather has begun saying things like he's gonna be 150 lbs before he starts school.

My 12 month old has been continually clinging to my side lately. He won't go near any one else, including his dad, someone else goes to pick him up or play with him he starts howling. Every time I put him down he starts crying and doesn't stop until I pick him up again. I have to put a stop to this as I can't go carrying him around 24/7. I am also due to go back to work next month (part-time) and he will be starting day-care. What are some suggestions to get him to stop doing this????

My daughter was in hospital for a few hours yesterday because she woke up vomiting black stuff which later turned clear but was vomiting for about 8 hours, then had diarreah from then until now. It is really scary because it's the first time she has been ill like this (she is 22months old) and it has been a huge test for me- I am terrified about people being sick near me...

So, I was wondering, who else is nursing a young child back to health now?
Please help me feel like I'm not alone here?
