My daughter was in hospital for a few hours yesterday because she woke up vomiting black stuff which later turned clear but was vomiting for about 8 hours, then had diarreah from then until now. It is really scary because it's the first time she has been ill like this (she is 22months old) and it has been a huge test for me- I am terrified about people being sick near me...

So, I was wondering, who else is nursing a young child back to health now?
Please help me feel like I'm not alone here?

Nope, you're not alone.. last monday, my 16 month old was vomitting once or twice a day and really lethargic.. we had to go the ER last week because we were concerned with dehydration. This week he's coming out of it. It was hard for me to see my toddler not feeling well. This is really the first time he has been really sick like this. Though I was doing all I could to help him, I wish I could have done more, but couldn't.. It was the stomach bug that's been going around.

Not at this moment, but a year ago my daughter woke up vomiting profusely. It continued for two days. I thought is was a stomach bug that had been going around because vomiting was the only symptom in the beginning. Then on day three her fever shot up to 104 and I was terrified. A rash had also come up all over her body head to toe. She had Scarlet Fever. I didn't even know people still got that. That is the worst episode of illness we've ever encountered.

I sent my son to stay at my aunt's house until my daughter was over it, just to be sure he wouldn't catch it.

I can definitely sympathize with you. Take it a moment at a time and try not to stress. It only makes everyone feel worse. Keep a happy face for your daughter. Stay positive and don't worry about catching it. I'd rather get sick than see my kids in pain.

Hope she feels better soon.
God bless

Mine is not sick right now but has been this winter. She is 6, I'm pregnant and every time she got sick so did I. I hope your little one gets better really fast.

Its a vicious cycle. You take your kids to the Dr. Sick people go to the Dr., they make your child sick. Or you go to the hospital and they get worse. No place you go is germ free. School is also a germ breeding ground.

Its sooooo hard when they are the age of your daughter. You feel so helpless, feel so bad for them, and there just isn't alot you can do. And they cant tell you what hurts. That's the one thing i dread with the new baby. At least my older 2 can tell me whats wrong.

All three of my "babies" have been sick in the last month. My 6 yo was in the hospital for 5 days for dehydration and her kidneys shutting down, but it's happened before with her. My 5 yo has been fighting congestion and fever. My 17 yo had had bronchitis 3 times this winter. Unfortunately when your babies are sick, it's scary. You will do just fine with her. You aren't the only parent dealing with all the sickness hon. My Ped's Doctor told me he's seen more cases like you describe and like my kids this winter than he can remember in a long time. Just know she'll get better and she needs momma's love to do that.

in case you dont like the college device then I propose you homeschool your son on condition that he's getting unwell lots. We dont might desire to deliver our infants to college till they're 5 o6 staring on the state. i understand of infants who've infrequently been in college .no longer inevitably by way of ailment. our college says that if a baby is unwell then you certainly stay away rather till they're extra effective from an outbreak.Your college sounds no longer ordinary.you besides mght might desire to have a notice interior the diary or ring the college.I dont understand what the respond is.i think of four is purely too youthful for college. In Australia young infants are at kindergarten at that age except you have a distinctive device.Your son has been in wellness center .Get the healthcare professional to place in writing a notice to the college and the different visits to the healthcare professional must be recorded interior the notice..in college they'll %. up quite some distinctive thingssome extra serious than others. My daughter had 2 and a 0.5 weeks off using a glandular an infection on the tip of the 12 months.that's recorded on the assessment sheet.the wonderful element you're able to do is to maintain your son in college till the Easter harm and then pass on your loved ones trip.Get your son to accomplish a little extra beneficial artwork from college to do at domicile..that would shop the college happy.I dont understand the regulations on your united states of america.right here mothers and dads might desire to inform the college and if ita long trip provide them schoolwork. good success.

My niece has been sick going on 3 weeks now, she was vomiting but nothing black, then had diarrhea real bad and now has a major ear infection. I think something is going around and we are not being told because I also have heard other parents talking about this. As organized as our gov. is they will probably be the last to know. Hope your little girl gets to feeling better soon. God bless and good luck.

My youngest (eight months) has been fighting off pneumonia and bronchitis since November (has been on meds like three times for each, now is on a nebulizer), I took my three year old daughter to the e.r. on Friday with a 103 temp, they said she has tonsillitis and now I took her in today cause she still has a 102 fever even with the meds and is coughing constantly and they tell me she has bronchitis too, so now she has to use a nebulizer too. On top of all of that I have a head cold that won't quit. I have been to the doctors office/e.r. five times in the last week and I have to take my youngest in again on Wednesday for a follow up and my three year old on Friday. My oldest son is staying with grandma until we all get better. The nurses are starting to joke about me renting a room.

Best of luck to you, hope your baby feels better soon (hope they figured out what was wrong).

I was sick with a chest cold 2 weeks ago. During that time, my husband got the flu. My 3 1/2 year old son got my chest cold from drinking out of my cup. My 16 month old got the same chest cold. I have been taking care of sick people for the last couple of weeks and I am sick of it. I think I should own stock in Lysol.

I had to take my 2 1/2 yr old son to the emergency room a few days ago because he had croup and woke up in the middle of the night coughing, then he could hardly breathe. I thought he was going to pass out trying to catch his breath. It scared me half to death because my children have barely been sick since they were born. Now my 1 yr old, my husband, and I all have a terrible cold because of it, but we have all been feeling better with each passing day.
