I have a 6 & 7 year old and I always start them about 2 weeks before time change. 10 minutes at a time we go until we hit time change then it's like nothing ever happened. All they know is they can play outside longer. :) His body will get use to it, then it will be time to change back again, lol.

What I do with my little ones is this. Their bedtime is 8pm, and I have put two smiley faces on the 12 and 8. I tell them when the big hand is on the 12 and the little hand on the 8, it's bedtime. When they protest, I say lets look at the clock. I point out it says bedtime and they don't usually give me any trouble. He will adjust, just keep putting him to bed at bedtime. I sometimes let the little ones "read" a book for half hour, but they are quiet. They fall asleep pretty quickly.

I have a 4 year old also and I dealt with this last year and made a change this time. 2 weeks before the time change, I started weaning him a few minutes each few days until he was going to bed earlier and the time change was no big deal. I'd just do that now...start weaning him 15 minutes a night until he's on track.

be patient with him he doesnt understand the whole time thing to begin with. if its not a problem let him go to bed at his regular time if its not to early now with the time change. or slowly adjust him by half hour everynight to put him in bed if he was used to going to bed at 9 which is now 10 put him in bed at 9:30 for a few days then at 9 the next until hes back where he needs to be and as far as waking up he shouldnt wake up until hes ready to wake up keep his room dark and if you wake up before he does shut the door so he wont hear you then wake him up at what ever time he needs to get up. if he wakes up earlier let him have something to drink and watch TV. until its time for you to get up. be sure to LOCK the doors. so they cant get out and noone can get in.

Let him go to bed the hour he says he wants to, Eventually, his body will get used to the time change just like everyone else.

Oh they do know. My daughter told me its wasnt time for dinner. ( she is 6) We normally eat at 5-530 and she said we cant eat yet cause its not getting dark yet....
It will pass quickly Try letting him go to bed when ready...... He will when he is tired.

If youfind the answer let me know... This time change is always hell on me. Take me weeks to get back on schedule.
It is really tough on the kids - I know - but nothing much you can do but ease them into it.
Sorry.
