I am trying to get my little girl to sleep to a regular routine but I'm having trouble getting her to settle at a respectable time. My 6 yr old son is in bed and asleep by 7.30 pm but my daughter won't entertain the idea of going to sleep before 9 pm. HELP!

My son recently started pre-k, the first two days were great for him, then he was so scared to go back and everytime I would bring him to school, all he did was cry the whole 2 1/2 hours there. He kept telling me things that I have never heard come out of his mouth before, like one teacher was yelling at him because he cried for mommy. One incident of many was that when they brought the kids outside to play, the teacher put another students coat on him, twice as big as he and filty, and when I went to get him, I asked him where is your coat, then the teacher came to me saying sorry there was so much confusion. There are 5 kids and 3 teachers.....I pulled him out of that school.
Now he is so scared for me to leave him anywhere, he cries when i leave and when i go to the bathroom, i don't understand why, he has never been like this only when he started school.
What do i do????

Our 25 month old son sleeps in our room and starts out in his own bed.
The problem is my wife has got him accustomed to 1 or 2 nightly feedings of milk so he wakes up usually once around 12:30 - 0100am at which point she brings him in our bed, feeds him and then he stays in our bed because he wines and cries if we try to put him back in his own bed.

Then he wakes up again around 2:30-3:30 in the morning and gets another feeding of milk. Every time he wakes up he starts wining and crying and we are getting hardly any sleep. I tell her to put him back in his own bed but at his first cry she brings him back into our bed!!!!

How in God's name can I break this cycle????

I am 14 weeks pregnant and we have a large dog, a poodle mix that is around 70 pounds. He has slept in the bed with us since he was a puppy, but he is starting to make me nervous. Several times during the night he stetches out and his leg kicks me in the stomach. Can this hurt the baby?? I know the baby is cushioned. in the amniotic fluid but just want to be safe. We are considering trying to make hime sleep in the floor, but this will be difficult because he is very stubborn. And I can't let him roam this house at night because we have a security system with motion detectors so we really have to keep him in the room. Could he really hurt the baby?

Do you really think you are better then anyone else?

Do you not think that you are instilling them with your own fears and "faults" as well?

I am a stay at home mom of a 3 year old and a six month old. Since having my daughter my son has gotten so much meaner and ruder. Hes always telling me No and hitting, taking toys, and plain just ignoring my every word. I have tried taking toys, time outs, spankings, putting to bed, removing tv. Hes just getting worse. I do not know how much more i can take. I dont know if its jelousy, his age, all the new things in his life-ie the baby, potty training, sharing, etc. Any ideas that i have not already tried? I am a mother at her wits end please any advice is welcomed. Please no rude comments or downgrading my parenting skills. Thanks for the advice

play with toy guns, pistols, rifles, swords and long sharp sticks?MY daughter in law says her son is only reacting to a show he saw on deer hunting. This child has killed every frog he could find on my property by putting sharp sticks through them; has pinned my puppy down on his back with his knees holding the puppy's front legs flush with the floor while he attempted to strangle the animal. Luckily an adult interviened and saved the dog from further abuse and possible death. His mother makes light of these bazarre incidents, in seemingly total denial that her son has some heavy issues. This child also had his hands around another childs neck just recently.A few days ago we went to the woods to chop our Christmas tree and came upon a deer as we left. ALL the way home the kid wined,"I want to kill the deer." (Ignored by his mother)How many agree with the mom:constant play with weapons is ok?any comments about mom and her child rearing abilities? please list all. Your voice may help!

Dear All,

My two year and one month old son doesnt seem to be eager to do anything when it comes to doing it deliberately. If I tell him to say "one, two, three...", he just doesnt ever say it. I never overdo it, and i just give it up patiently.

Interestingly, to my consolation, he does copy me when i do excercise (yoga) for example.

I have learnt a theory that says: "Your child does what you DO NOT what you SAY".

Now, my worry is that I see a lot of children following their parents and learning the month names, A-Z, etc at his age, and then repeating it when their parents ask so.

Does my son lack the quality of listening? Is this common in this age? Or do I have to change my perception? What is the best action I could do?

Thank you very much for reading; please do advice!

your home so that the toddler did not walk up the stairs, lose her balance and fall? Or do you think that if the toddler can walk, it is okay to take the gate down?

What have you gotten your toddler to eat (meals wise)? My 2 year old will eat macaroni and cheese, waffles, lunchmeat, crackers, string cheese, peanut butter bread and french fries. Does this sound typical? I thought she'd be eating grilled cheese sandwhiches by now but she's not interested. She doesn't like tomato based stuff at all. Any ideas? For snacks she'll eat crackers, goldfish, bananas, etc.

My nephew is cute but sometimes he can be a pain in the butt. Babysitting is hard cause I don't have his mom around to back me up, just me myself and I. I am thinking of new ways to punish him cause I never seem to get the point accross that is he does it again then he will get in trouble, and just now i came up with a time-out where there are two gates (making like a little jail cell away from his TV, and toys) in the hall and I keep him in there for 3 minutes, and he seems to calm down a little.

I wonder if that is to mean cause he is traped in a small area no toys and no tv. Am i being to mean?

My daughter has almost constant ear infections. Normal antibiotics don't do a thing for them and we've moved on to the higher tier ones. We're even going to have a consult with an ENT after christmas about tubes. And yet people still read us the riot act on how the antibiotics don't do anything or even make them worse and if we'd just leave it alone it would clear up. Well sure it might...but how many times would her ear drum rupture before she "got over it"? I do use the wait and see method with her but if she still has drainage and all the other symptoms after a few days then off to the doc we go. If these people don't know my child, don't know her medical history, or even look at her ears (usually they're seeping with ooze when she's got a bad one) where do they get off telling me I'm not doing the right thing in seeking medical treatment for her? Sorry I know this is a bit of a rant. Does this happen to anyone else? And if so what do you do when it happens?

My son is 14 months old. He walks, and talks a little. Lately he has been doing some naughty things like getting on the kitchen table, getting into the dogs water, getting behind the TV, and pushing the buttons on the TV. He knows what he is doing wrong, because I tell him no, and he will run away from me and laugh when I scold him. Now I guess it's time to start "time out". I want to take his old high chair that he doesn't use (he uses a booster seat because he pushes his tray off of his highchair with his feet) and place it facing the wall. After I tell him no, and he repeats his naughty thing I plan on putting him in the chair for 1 minute. I know he won't like it. I don't want to spank him since he is just 1 year old. Ideas? Comments? THANKS!!!!
