We have 2 kids, 4 1/2 and almost 7 years old. We want to make a chart that shows the things they should do and give rewards after completing weekly, mothly,... How did you do it?
Sometimes the big one hits the small one, if he doesn´t hit, we want to reward that behavior.

I know this is probably a weird question. But I am worried about him. He was running a 103 at 4:45pm (so his day care said as I was on my way to pick him up) I told her to give him some Motrin. By the time I got there the fever had gone away. (It took me an hour because of snow here in Michigan.) Now I have given him a bath and he shivered the whole time. I put warm pj's on him and checked his temp. It is at about a 100.7. He is 2 so it is hard to get him to sit still long enough to get an accurate reading. I gave him some more motrin and he is asleep in the chair. It is now 8:45 here. I think I am being a worried mom and just need some reasurance. My husband is out of town for work.

My 20 mos old son rarely lets me brush his teeth. I give him tons of praise when he opens his mouth of 5 seconds to let me brush them but this is rare. I've tried just plain holding him down, begging and pleading, praise, yummy tasting toothpaste, brand new powered toothbrush that he picked out! I'm scared his teeth will fall out! We don't let him eat lots of sugary food but he does eat some. Well he grow out of this? Should I force him? Help!

My daughter is 28 mnths old. She started nursery 6 wks ago. 2 evenings a week, 3 hours an evening. She is an only child and I wanted her to start mixing with other children & having fun with kids her own age. She absolutely loves going. Doesnt want to leave at home time and is very fond of her teacher already. The only problem is she has been sick almost every week since she started. She has picked up colds, eye infection, ear infection, chest infection, throat infection and a gastric bug since she started. The poor thing has never been so run down and ill. I was at the doctor yet again and she advised me to keep her out of nursery for a few weeks. Doctor said her immune system is very low and needs time to get fully better. Is there any point in letting her go back? Because she has not been around kids so much in the past does this mean she will pick up everything that is going. I feel so bad about keeping her out, she asks to go to nursery every day. Should I keep her out altogether?

My daughter is double jointed. She is 15 months and not walking independently. Her ped said if she doesn't walk by 17 months she will have to go to physical thearpy. Does this happen often? Will it affect her, her whole life? She was born premature weighing 4 pounds. Physically she's been late with everything, mentally she is sharp, a mind of a 2 or 3 year old. I don't know what to do, any advice?

At what age should a child be able to feed himself with a fork and spoon? My first son did at like 1 year and did fine. My second was taught everything the same way and is almost 2 and still won't feed himself. He will try somtimes but he can't get it and gives up. If it isn't finger food he just won't eat it, and then I end up feeding him just so he will eat.

I've tried not feeding him and making him do it himself but he refuses and when he won't feed himslef I don't want him to go hungry or malnurished, so that is not an option.

I can't just give him finger food all the time, because I think he should eat what the family is eating.

Any suggestions on what i can do or buy (like a special type) to get him to use his fork and spoon?

I hate to say this, but my son who just turned 10 months old yesterday, is downright mean to the point of evil! He can't touch anyone unless it's hitting, he screams and throws himself in the floor, he knows what "no" means but refuses to listen, and he beats on his cousin of the same age and takes his toys. He has even made other kids bleed.I DO NOT encourage this behavior and I remove him from situations and have even tried smacking his hands, but it doesnt help.I have no idea how to get through to him. I am so tired of having to tell all our relatives to keep his hands away from scratching/hitting distance. He also throws things at people, he blacked my 17 year old cousins eye with the remote twice! My husband and I are at are wits end and are begging for any help on how to discipline a 10 month old.Just this weekend he walked up to a baby at a pageant and grabbed him by the hair and slammed him to the floor.I want to have a baby I can trust to be around people without hurting them.

Can anyone give me any good tips for disciplining a 2 year old girl when out in public when she knows she can not be given a time out and in general she is becoming a little complacent about time outs as they are not a hardship anymore.
Smacking is not an option so please do not offer this as an answer.
Thank you for your help !

Why are more and more parents letting thier kids just sit a play video games all day every day. That does absolutly nothing for them....Kids need to be out getting dirty, bruising knees, riding bikes, maybe even causing a little bit of trouble.. We wonder why so many more kids are becoming unhealthy and over weight, but parents are the ones allwoing this to happen.

I don't really want to give out junk food and I don't want to spend much. My first thought was a craft kit that maybe I could assemble the pieces to but not being craftly I have no idea. Some of my son's classmates aren't even 3 yet so it's not easy. Any ideas? What are you doing?
