There are many things you could do. You could draw or make crafts. Make clay figures or color with the child. Find out something which the person you are babysitting likes to do. You could even try puzzels. It really depends on the age group. If all else fails choose a good game to play. I think UNO is a good game or candy land, even checkers. Good luck with what you decide to do!

I assume you are talking about things that your child can do, while you try and catch up around the house....

1. Let them help...I have a two year old...and he always helps me...it does take a little longer but you are spending time with yor child and also teaching them to keep things clean....Let them put cloths in the laundry basket....give them a dry rag and let them help you "dust". Make a game out of putting their toys in the toy box.

2. IF you can't do this, coloring books are good, also, a big card board box, like from a washer or fridge.....it keeps my son busy for hours....he loves them...try to avoid the TV as much as you can....

3. If you have friends with kids, you might also ask them to babysit for just a hour or so to let you get caught up. I have a friend who has a child about the same age as mine....and we just trade back and forth....it keeps the kids around other kids and allows them to play, and also gives each set of parents time go get things done....

I rotate toys. I hide away a box full when they have lost their power to captivate. Then pull them out later and they are like new to the children.

You could bring out a box they havent seen for awhile when you need something to entertain them like when you must get something done, or when a babysitter comes.

If they are old enough water color, paint or playdough are also good special activities. Especially when the weather permits taking them outside.

Arts and Crafts.. Coloring and other projects.. Try to stay away from the tv as much as you can.. Even if you sit on the ground and play toys with the kids that's better than sitting them in front of the tv

Simon says. Kids can play that game for hours. Hide and seek is great fun. Throw in a cd and have a dance party the kids will love you for that. Make funny dance moves and make um laugh! A fun game me and my bro used to play was leave peice of paper on them with arrows pointing to were your hiding. have the kids follow the arrows than take turns! Its lots of fun!

Read to the children. Play videos for their age. Play some games with them. It all depends on their ages.

Coloring books, or you could read to the kiddies. And when I babysat my nephew we would go outside to play some, if it was nice out.
