Yes at 19 months a child can have just about anything doctors dont suggest peanut butter because it can be a choking hazard. Tuna is fine about once a week and good source of protein too. If she has not had it before make sure you watch for signs of allergies after the first couple of times just in case and give her small amount the first few times.

Well my 8 month old does, but never very much and never very often. Just make sure it is "canned light tuna" not any other kind.

Now I suppose it is better not to, but then again fish is very good for growing brains and canned tuna is very convenient.

If you are concerned you could wait until fish is on sale at the grocery store and freeze it in kids sized servings. You want fish that are small in life, the bigger the get/longer they live the more mercury fish contains.

Shark, swordfish, King Mackerel, and Tile-fish are supposed to be really bad.

Yep :-)

Starting at 12 months, they can have pretty much everything we have so it's totally fine for a 19 month old to eat tuna.

Yes, but limit the amount and how often he eats it. A 19 month old can eat about anything if it is properly fixed.

yes. But make sure it is not really often during the week- maybe once a week.
Also, be sure it is not too lumpy for him or her to swallow easily.

yes, but limit it to maybe once a week... You still have to be careful with canned seafood, but it's good that you want to introduce it to your child!! Good luck to you
