Yes its ok. Helps her learn to self soothe. Its also great at night. Lessens the chance of her dying from SIDS. Heres a great article about it...

It is fine. I am a mother of 4 and I used a pacifier for three of my children they sucked it day and night , as they got older the gave it up easily but my youngest daughter sucks her thumb and it is hard to get her to give up as I can't thow it away for the out of sight out of mind theory. I would rather them have a pacifier and suck it all day instead of a thumb.

Some newborns have a strong sucking reflex. Using the pacifier soothes the newborn and calmes them.
My daughter used one for the first five mths of her life and she broke herself of it.
At your babys age if it soothes her i wouldn't worry about letting her have it. Whatever gives you sleep at this point ;)

Sure - she is only 5 weeks. Let her have it. No big deal.

At this point it won't hurt her, she may be hard to break from it though. Its her comfort zone.
