Dear All,
My two year and one month old son doesnt seem to be eager to do anything when it comes to doing it deliberately. If I tell him to say "one, two, three...", he just doesnt ever say it. I never overdo it, and i just give it up patiently.
Interestingly, to my consolation, he does copy me when i do excercise (yoga) for example.
I have learnt a theory that says: "Your child does what you DO NOT what you SAY".
Now, my worry is that I see a lot of children following their parents and learning the month names, A-Z, etc at his age, and then repeating it when their parents ask so.
Does my son lack the quality of listening? Is this common in this age? Or do I have to change my perception? What is the best action I could do?
Thank you very much for reading; please do advice!

Rest assured ur son is a perfectly normal 2yo. He is learning more than u think, just because he won't learn what U what him to learn doesn't mean he's still not learning all the same. His mind is a sponge and it is taking in so much. Let him enjoy being a 2yo and let him learn about the month names, a-z etc when it comes time for school. being a 2yo is all about playing and having fun, so let him.

It is great teaching these things to your child at a young age but don't worry if he is not interested, it really is not important. The things you are trying to teach will sound very impressive for your child to preform for others but is not that big a deal. When a 2 yr old learns to recite his ABCs it is the same as if he has learnt to sing happy birthday, or Twinkle little star. It is called ROTE. Teaching him to recognise letters in a random would be far more beneficial to him. You could start with the letters in his name. Say his name starts with 'S' .When you see a Stop sign you could point to it and say 'Stop. Stop makes a Sssss sound, just like your name'. Or point to a sign and say 'look, that word has an S in it just like you name'. Eventually he will start to point these things out himself. Another idea is to make him books. Cut out pictures of things beginning with a letter Apple, Ant, etc . Then read the books together, point to the pictures and say what they are sounding out the first letter to emphasize. Look on the net for a website called Letterland. Letter land has characters for each letter and a great song that might be more fun to listen to than the alphabet. There are so many oppotunities for a 2 yr old to learn in everyday activities. Talk to your son alot. When dressing him say 'Today you are going to wear your red shirt, can you count the buttons 1,2,3,4,5. your shirt has 5 buttons'. In this example you are teaching numbers and colours! If he really seems disinterested, just back off for a little while and try again say in a month. He will learn all these things in his own time.

My daughter is 2. She doesnt focus and learn what i always want her to learn. But the good thing is this should not have anything to do with if he will be behind when he starts school. Most kids learn the abc's and counting from the tv over and over again. Which there is nothing wrong with that. But some kids just dont want to sit still long enough. Make up silly games you think he might like that will help him count. With my daughter i always say stuff like. You have 2 shoes. You have 1 nose. She can count up to 3 now.

Wow! That is quite younger to begin. Just suggests how some distance the arena has taken matters to the severe. I am sorry to listen to that you simply desire her to get an abortion, existence is a reward from God, although we do not see it that means in many instances. If she can not manage being a mom at that younger age, then possibly bear in mind adoption. There are tons of loving couples available in the market loss of life to have a youngster in their possess, however can not because of clinical motives, so adoption might be the correct reply. I recognise she needed to have intercourse the night time she went to the films five months in the past and got here residence in the dark, it's the handiest reply that is sensible. But can sh love the youngster like a youngster demands love? Will she rise up at 10:00, 12:00, two:00 each and every night time and nonetheless cross to college? Just anything to consider approximately.

no your son lacks the quality of being a parrot. Don't worry he's just got his own ideas about what to say or do. Some children blindly do what adults tell them to (these kids scare me future sheep if you know what I mean) others decide even at 2 if what Dad wants him to do is also what he wants to do. You're looking at years of frustrating and long explanations that end in "because I said so that's why". Don't worry though it just shows his intelligence.
If you continue to be concerned you can always take him to a psychologist a time or two to have his behavior monitored and make sure everythings in normal parameters.

Some kids just develop lately in life. Just be patient and wait for the right time. You can't compare him to his peers because of individual differences. In this age children tend to be stubborn but it's typical that's why this stage is called the "terrible twos".

Children take things at their own steps... Does he speak at all?
If you are really worried about it take him to the Doctor and see if everything is okay. They will be able to give you more advice on what to do, or if there is anything wrong.

called the terrible twos for a reason. nothing to worry about if he can talk you fine. if he cant talk yet then you may want to take him to the doc to see if he has hearing trouble. other than that let him be a kid.
