My son kind of does the same thing and his doc told me it was from the food. Example he gave me, if you eat too many carrots your bowel movement will start to turn orange just like your skin does. I hope all turns out okay for your little guy.

as long as the poo itself is red and not just tinged with blood like stuff then its probly something he ate.i remember when my son would eat crayons and would have all different colors of poo!lol!hes fine but you did good by calling the doc just to make sure!

I think it is likely due to the food. Yes , it can color the poo. I believe you could tell the difference if it were a bloody poo.

How red was it? Food can deffinatly affect the stools. Also kids can be constpated and can have blood streaked stools.Make sure he has enough water and juice.

sometimes the type of food they eat can cause it. especially since he has been eating sooo much red stuff. i have come to notice that if my eldest boy (4 yrs old) eats TRIX, his is green. and that is just one bowl. not different things that are green....dont worry! if it looks more like blood red, then be concerned.

ONe of my boys had the same thing happen. Turned out to be the drink he had; off brand of "kool aid."
