My son and I have gone through a big transation in the last 6 months, moving in with my mom, out of the area where he was close to his father, and I have returned to school full time. He is at a new school and has transitioned well, except for the teacher says she thinks he has ADHD because he has a problem sitting still during certain portions of the day. He loves to sit and read books, do music time, and their dance class, but sometimes wants to run around when he's supposed to be sitting. He has been at this new school for about 3 months now, and I think he's just settling into his new environemnt, testing the waters as kids to. He is 5, and will be in Kindergarten next year, so is it too early to diagnose him with ADHD, and is medication the answer now, or would it be better to wait?

My son has had a heart murmur since birth and is now 16 months old. At his latest checkup the murmur was still detected by the doctor. The doctor still says it's nothing to worry about but he also told us shortly after his birth that most newborn's outgrow their murmurs within a year. Should I be concerned and demand an exam by a specialist?

My daughter is 2 years old and has loved her bath time sense she was 3 months, but all of a sudden she got this fear of me putting water over her head to wash her hair, I can’t even show her the shampoo with out her screaming bloody murder. She will set in her bath all day and play but when it comes to washing her hair it’s the end of the world for her. It is so hard for me to wash her hair, and when I do everybody in the house comes running to the bathroom to see if she had fallen or hit her head because she is screaming so badly. How do I wash her hair with out her crying and screaming and trying to jump out of the tub?

My daughter is in pre-school and they have been practicing writing their names. She can do it and would do it for me for about 2 weeks. But now when I ask her to do it for me or to practice writing it she always says she doesn't want to. And even if I finally talk her into doing it she acts like she doesn't know how and will write/draw something that looks nothing like her name. I just need some suggestions. I don't want to punish her b/c I don't want her to be scared of learning or confuse learning with getting punished.

My son is all boy and he tends to get into everything he can find. I have tried time out, but so far it has not helped. He sometimes acts like he can not hear me say no. When he knows I am real upset he hugs and tries to kiss me, I try not to laugh but he will not stop and keeps coming up me to kiss me. I just need some suggestions to other ways of getting his attention.

My son is in a larger daycare and there are at least 10 employees. All of these people have at least some contact with my son throughout the week. I don't want to buy some and not others, but we can't afford to buy something nice for them all. I was thinking about taking in lunch like pizza or something one day for the workers and the kids. Any ideas would be great. Oh, and i'm not much of a baker.

my wife had a baby about a year ago, and she keeps buying him all these big, soft toys.

the baby only has small little hands though, so i was hoping to buy him something like lego, or maybe another type of toy that is no bigger than (for the sake of the question) his mouth.

where is the best place to buy these baby toys?

I'm a stay at home mom, and for months now my 13 month old son hits me, pulls my hair and scratches my face and he thinks it's a funny game. He tends to behave well when he's with other people or out in public, but once we come home or when I enter the room he looks at me and cries like I've abandoned him or he's in pain (but he's not). Baby sitters will tell me that he never acts like that with them, even my husband agrees, it's only once I walk into the room or he hears my voice and he screams at the top of his lungs. How do I get him to stop being so agressive and for lack of a better word "whiney" towards me? I'm at my wits end and most days I throw my back out trying to juggle him and my household duties. Even my 3 year old daughter isn't this much work and was never this fussy!
