It depends on the state. Some require children to attend Kindergarten and test out to go to first grade. I do not believe any school requires a child attend nursery school, although it is a nice boost for any child to receive before entering the traditional grades.

It is not a legal requirement to attend pre-school but there is a law that states every child over the age of 3 should have access to a place at pre-school if they want one or words to that effect and it is free to send them from the term after they turn 3 they get government funding (for up to 5 sessions I believe but you'd have to check) but before that you usually have to pay yourself for each session that they do. It also depends on the availability in your area some areas are so oversubscribed you'd be lucky to get a place before they turn 4 anyway.

It is not required for children to attend preschool. Nor is it for kindergarden but many children do very well there. The age requirement is different in each state and usually depends on the childs birthday. I know in Arizona the child has to be 5 by Aug. 31 and I think that in California the child has to be 5 by Dec.1. But contact the school district in your area to be sure.

There is no legal obligation for a child to attend nursery in the UK. They do have to attend school, of course, and nursery is a very sensible way of preparing them for the time when they're going to have to spend a whole day away from home.

There is no law that requires kids to go to nursery school. They have to go to Kindergarten and that's all. Some places ( New York ) are trying to get mandatory pre-k.

Is nursery school a law? Most pre-schools are private. I've never heard of that law.

It is not a legal obligation but in Britain every child over the age of 3 has a right to a place. But it is purely up to the individual whether their child attends or not. There are pros and cons to either decision.

In the US? Children are not even required by law to attend Kindergarten. But it highly recommended.

the only legislation is that your children are educated, how you choose to do this is up to you. many people are opting for home ed till the kids are older as the institutionalisation of chiidren seems to be happening to young. most LAs offer nursery places from 3.5
