My babies are over 12 mths old and are still eating baby food.

I would like them to start normal food but...they don´t chew properly and one of them ends up vomiting.

What foods should I start with?

I´m afraid they´ll lose weight...they are prems and are below the average weight for their age. (they are currently 14 mths-corrected age)

My baby just turned 1 and he will only drink a sip or two of water during the day. He is still breastfed and on solids, but a very picky eater. Any idea if this is ok/healthy for him? You hear so much about hydration, it makes a new mom worry!

Thanks!

She has a few favorite cloth diapers she calls her hankies and she only does this in the car or when she watches tv or goes to sleep. We cut the corners off on most of them to keep her nose safe and to be more sanitary, but she still sucks her fingers and then shell stick her finger in her nose. Once she is asleep it all comes out and the dentist says it hasnt affectied her teeth yet and wont because it doesnt stay in while she is sleeping. I dont let her take it to preschool or in to stores, but she wont suck her fingers unless she has a hanky. Will she outgrow this or how can I get her off it. My husband sucked his fingers when he was little too, I dont know if that matters...

I've been working w/ my daughter for a few months on potty training. She's 21 months.... we haven't been making a lot of progress. She'll "tee tee" in her potty chair and will at times tell me when she has to go, but continues to dirty her diaper. Here recently, she won't even attempt to let me know when she has to go potty. Any advice??? I'm about ready to give up and wait till she's older.

She is 1 and now that little flap is hanging there a little bit. This happened on Thursday morning. Do you think it will heal? I don't know if I should let it go or take her to the doctor. It doesn't seem to bother her, but you can see it hanging there when she smiles.

Okay, this is such a hard situation for my family. My mother in law has tuesday, wednesday and thursday off of work and usually picks up one of my children every week. She has been rotating. However, my daughter who is four pitches a fit at the daycare and makes up reasons why she doesn't want to go... (my mommy didn't pack my bag, etc), Well I packed her bag and talked to her about it the next day and she ran away from my mother in law. I think my mother in law thinks I am saying somthing to her??? Which I would NEVER do. I talk my mother in law up in front of the kids and tell my daughet it hurts my feelings when she pitches a fit to go with her grandma??? I feel that they (my husband and mother in law) need to understand she is a typical four year old and stop reading into it... but they seem to think that there is somthing wrong? help

Last night, I was bringing my daughter home. We had stopped at a restaurant and she had a large lemonade. Well, we encountered stand still traffic with nowhere to pull off or move. Needless to say, being 3 and a half with a large lemonade in her tummy, she eventually needed to pee. The situation got more an more urgent and finally, I couldn't stand seeing her in agony, so I got out of my seat and had her pee right next to the car. What would you have done in my place?

My friend has a 16 month old son, and when he is mad, he thrashes his head and bangs it against whatever is near him (table, wall, etc.). Ok, so I can understand that, he is mad and having a fit. But he bangs his head when he is not mad too. Like we will be in the car, and he will be looking out the window, banging his head on the back of the car seat. We will be in the house, and he will be sitting on the couch playing with a toy, and he will bang his head against the back of the couch. He will be sitting in someone's lap, and he will bang his head against their chin, shoulder, whatever. He is not mentally challenged or have any medical condition why he would do this. He is a normal 16 month boy, smart as a whip too. Why does he bang his head like that? Anyone know?

Last week our landlord came up to service our furnace. When he was here my 7 year old and 2 year old noticed the fire in the furnace. Since then our 2 year old screams when going to bed. He will work himself up until he vomits. After 45min-1 hr he will fall asleep. Around 2am he wakes up screaming for Mommy & Daddy. When the furnace kicks on his scream becomes bloodcurdding. The only way to calm him is to let him sleep with us. He is not cutting any teeth or sick. Could he really be afraid of the furnace at 2 years old? Any ideas so we can ALL get a good nights sleep?

She goes to preschool, so she gets plenty of interaction with other kids her age, but once she's home, she talks CONSTANTLY! I'm to the point where I can't concentrate, and I can't get anything done that involves any sort of thinking. When she finally goes down for her nap or bedtime, I'm so mentally exhausted that I'm ready to cry. Even when she's playing "alone" with toys, she's constantly saying, "Mommy, I'm going to put the blanket on my baby, okay?" or "Mommy, the baby is crying now, okay?" If I don't answer her, then I have to listen to, "Okay, Mommy? Okay?"

It's not that I don't give her attention, either. I daily play board games with her and/or take her to the park, and I often join in and play pretend with her, but when I need some time to myself, or more importantly, time to talk to or help my other children, I get no more than 30 seconds of consecutive silence from her. What can I do??????

Usually it is because she is angry but sometimes she will just throw things for fun. She'll be standing there and suddenly she just picks it up and launches it at me or her brother.

I found an ebook online on how to know when your child is ready, and how to train in THREE days! It worked so great with my 19 month old daughter, that I just have to pass it on to all the other moms out there who are sick of diapers. Email or IM me at starsalso@yahoo.com and I will forward it to you! Lots of love xoxo

Our daughter has been pretty on track with her sizes. She's going to be one year old in the first week of January. We're looking to buy a winter (snow) suit for her now, as it gets very cold here early on, especially at night (it hit 30 degrees here one night this week).

I don't mind buying a bit big, so getting her a 12 month sized suit now would be fine. But I'm not sure how long after she gets to a year the suit will fit her.

So I guess the questions are...

What size winter suit would you recommend that we buy for the baby, 12 months or 18 months? Is there an in-between size?

What would be better a one piece or a two piece? Why?

How much growth room will she have with a 12 month suit? (It stays cold here until late March, so she'd be almost 15 months.)

Are we just destined to buy her two snow suits every year? :-o

Many thanks!

When my son wants something and I don't let him have it he throws a fit and screams and crys. I guess it's the terrible twos. I put him in his room and told him when he can stop crying he can come out. Is that ok? How do you handle your child when they scream and cry? thanks so much
