We dont have a lot of money and we bought our son a $100 dollar matress from Ikea. Now its time to buy our other son a matress and we still dont have much money to spend. This morning I tried to lie down on it to see if we should do the same for number 2 and it was so uncomfy to lie on. My husband says it doesnt matter because hes so light. Did anyone else have this problem? What should I do?

My little one just turned 4 and has untreated plagio. His doctor told me when he was little that his head would round out on it's own in time. He now has a slight flat spot on the right side of his head and his ears are a little off. He doesn't have the bulging on the forehead like other plagio kids do. No one ever notices it..I think I'm the olny one that worries. I guess I feel a little quilty for not doing more to help it when he was a baby. I didn't know that banding or a helmet was an option at that time. I guess what I want to know is how does it affect your child as they get older? Is it an issue in school? As his hair gets longer and thicker, will it help to cover it up? Any help would be great...thank you :-)

My 4 year old has a really big voice which he uses to his best abillity. This question is a (little tongue in cheek) I thought while I was keeping calm during one of his episodes that some sort of device attached to a 9v battery (small rectangular one which if you stick on your tounge gives a small shock) could, once a certain pitch or loudness has been reached delliver a small shock to one of his fingers. Also do you think it might have a chance to sell in the shops?

I recently found out that my 3 yr. old son was grinding his teeth at night. Now I've caught him doing it during the day. I've told him to stop and it's not working. I don't know what to do. I'm worried he'll cause future damage. Please help.

My son turned two a month ago and he's been quite a picky eater for the last six months or so. He will eat brown rice, eggs, yogourt, All Bran Bars, toast, and sometimes chicken and broccoli. He will always eat treats or sweets when he has them. The things he will eat aren't that bad but I'd like to know what has worked for some other parents out there when dealing with pickly toddlers. Thanks very much for your insight!

My daughter has recently taken a job outside of the home and I am babysitting my grandson. I am running out of things/ideas on what to feed him. He loves veggies so I feed him alot of green beans, carrots and stuff like that, but I don't know what else to buy that makes good finger foods for him to eat.

Where can I find information on what my son should be learning. I don't want to put him in daycare yet but I don't want him to fall behind. Is there any criteria I should be covering. Is there anyone out there that runs a daycare and could give me some info on this...? Thank you!

I have a girl who is almost 3, she is still sleeping in her crib but my brother is having a girl soon so i am going to give him my daughter's crib and get her a toddler bed. the thing is my daughter moves around so much and is so active, that i am afraid when i put her down to sleep she wont stay in her bed and its going to be a struggle for me to get her to stay in her bed and go to sleep. What should i do to get her to stay in her bed? She is fearless and if she happens to get up in the middle of the night she will take off. not like outside or anything but around the house. Any suggestions or comments would be great!

Right now I am a stay at home mom with a 15 m/o. I will within the next year or so put her into daycare. My husband works long hours, weekends holidays so I will be the one having to drop her off and pick her up. I didnt go to school just took a few classes at a junior college my only experience has been in fast food and at dry cleaners (which usually wont work around a m-f 8-5 schedule). What type of job do you hold? How old are your kids? Is it possible for you to pick them up and be home on weekends? What about when your kids get into school and are out at 3pm? This is all new to me and quite confusing my mom stayed home with us until we were in high school LOL. Did you go to school for it?ANY suggestions on what I should look into. I dont have the money or time to go back to school any longer than a year or two (for a cert. or an associates degree). Thank you so much for your time.

this is what happened, my son 14 mos and I went to t he playground where another child threw sand at him and hit him in the face along with saying "NO". it was right when we got there, so i think our being present bothered her. Her mom appoligsed and was very nice, but I found myself unsure how to handle this. I know all kids do things and maybe one day it will be mine, so I accepted the appology and really did not say anything. Is this too passive? How do you teach you child to handle these things assertively yet understandingly. What would have you done?
