My son has nearly 16 teeth and I know I should be brushing them at least once or twice a day, but I have yet to figure out how. I started out giving him a toddler toothbrush with the Toddler Orajel paste just to chew on/play with (didn't work). I then tried brushing my own teeth before brushing his (didn't work). I really don't know what else to try. He won't let me near his mouth without clamping his lips shut. The only way I can even get to his teeth is to pry his mouth open while he screams in protest and then, as you can imagine, I can't really do an effective job of brushing. How does everyone else do it? I'm at a loss here.

Our son is going to be 2 in December, and he is showing a big interest of going to the potty. I was wondering if someone would give me some tips on different games I can do to make him understand the whole potty concept.

My biggest problem is the waist size in pants, and the length of tops.
My daughter is 3. Hits 50% in height and weight.
She wears 4/5 (XS) tops for length, but the arms are WAY too long.
She wears 3T pants, but the waist is WAY too big.
Belts and potty training do NOT pair well.

Who do manufacturers model these clothes after anyway?

And does anybody have any suggestions on good places to buy right-sized toddler clothes?

How important is a "hot meal?" That could be a Kid Cuisine w/300 grams of fat, 450 calories and 50% of the daily sodium.

When making meals for my girls, I look at what I'm giving them whether it's hot or not. Like tonight my oldest will have a flavored toast with only 1 gram of fat and almost no sodium. I've topped it with cream cheese (for protein and calcium) and strawberry jam (ok ok, it's sugar, but she's gotta *eat* the thing for it to be healthy LOL!) She'll have a sliced apple and a side of lowfat popcorn (whole grains). A glass of soy milk (or 1% regular milk, her choice) is her drink. For dessert, she can have some teddy grahams (she doesn't get dessert every night, but she was *super* today, so I'm surprising her). I give her half the serving size, so it's about 60 calories and a couple of grams of fat - VERY low sodium.

Am I missing something though? Serious question - should she be having something hot at night? We're in FL btw, LOL, in case that makes a diff!

I have read post after post where people are are telling mothers or caregivers not to worry about brushing their kids teeth until they are 3-4 years old!! To me that's just CRAZY! Baby teeth should be taken care of too- so what if they are replaced later with permanent teeth! Who wants their kids teeth to rot?? Plus teach them young about good oral hygiene.

I just hate to think that there are parents out there who don't brush their kids teeth! I would feel so guilty taking care of mine and not taking care of my helpless toddler's teeth!

What a shame!

I am a stay-at-home mom and spend the majority of the day playing, singing, reading, and interacting with my son. We have a morning walk & afternoon outside play . However, we run out of things to do by early afternoon. Anyone have any games, ideas or crafts that are suitable for a 17-month -old and his attention span? I want his day to be fun-filled and educational but, I am quickly running out of ideas that are different and suitable. Any help is greatly appreicated!

His bed time is 8pm. You can look at him and tell he is tired so he's not going to bed to early. But he is using every stalling tactic he can. I want some water, I need to potty (but he does nothing), I want this toy, I want that toy, come cover me up. He gets up a minimum of about 10 times per night and I don't know what to do.
Any suggestions.

My sitter fed my 11 month old peanut butter and she had an allergic reaction. I had a chart when my son was a baby that listed the food and at what age it was ok to introduce it. IE - Peanut butter, 2-3 years, eggs after 1 year, etc.

Does anyone know where I can get a chart like that?

Ps. My daughter is doing fine.

Hello.... I tried this question twice before and I am still not getting answers that I was looking for... I would like your experiences... maybe I will word it differently... my husband and I have been TTC, and this month I took a test 2 days b4 and the day my period was supposed to come... both negative (however, the urine was not from the morning, but I didnt think it really mattered) well... I have not got my period... I am never late and I am 2 days late (I am NOT stressed) I took the tests my husband and I were not excited but we weren't bummed we said we would try again next month, happily, and I got ready for my period... that never came... so is it possible the tests came out wrong? when should I test again? (the reason I keep chatting on here is b/c we want this to be a surprise to our friends and family, so I just want some advice otherwise I don't know who else to turn to, but I AM NOT stressed, just curious!) and I do want to thank you all very much for your time!!!

My son will be 3 in December, and I would like to have a party with some of his friends from daycare and relatives. What are some easy games that toddlers can play that will keep their attention? Also, they need to be able to take place indoors, as I live in WI and the winters are cold! Additionally, we have a small house, so they cant take up too much room.

As a matter a fact, he won't eat much of anything. I have tried everything under the sun to try to get him to eat better, just won't happen. Should a take him to the doctors and find out about nutritional supplements? Has anyone ever such a thing?
