Hello.... I tried this question twice before and I am still not getting answers that I was looking for... I would like your experiences... maybe I will word it differently... my husband and I have been TTC, and this month I took a test 2 days b4 and the day my period was supposed to come... both negative (however, the urine was not from the morning, but I didnt think it really mattered) well... I have not got my period... I am never late and I am 2 days late (I am NOT stressed) I took the tests my husband and I were not excited but we weren't bummed we said we would try again next month, happily, and I got ready for my period... that never came... so is it possible the tests came out wrong? when should I test again? (the reason I keep chatting on here is b/c we want this to be a surprise to our friends and family, so I just want some advice otherwise I don't know who else to turn to, but I AM NOT stressed, just curious!) and I do want to thank you all very much for your time!!!

Well with my first child I didn't test positive on a pregnancy test til I missed my period the second month. I had light bleeding the first month so I thought I wasn't pregnant, but I was. My second child i found out when I was 9 weeks pregnant because I had missed the first period but had the second so I was like...what is this crap?! So i took a test just cause I was curious to see if I was pregnant and may have miss carried and the test came out positive. I then called my dr. cause I thought it was the hormones and I really did miss carry. Come to found out I was still prego and everything was A-ok. Sometimes the body just does weird stuff when adjusting to the pregnancy. So I would wait a week for the hormone level in your body to rise so the test will pick it up. Those sticks only a certain level of the hormone and it's high, that's why they say they are 99% accurate. For example, the level of hormone in the body could be at 10% but they test picks up only 30% and higher. So if you conceive and your levels don't raise as fast as needed for the test to notice it will say negative when it's not true. Your body could just be slow to produce it, no biggie, it always catches up. So give it a week for your hormones to catch up with the pregnancy and take it again. Or the doc can do a blood test and know without a doubt. Good luck on the trying part though. That's the best part...lol! Hope this helps

Home preg tests are NOT 100% accurate, and i'ts entirely possible yours is wrong. There is also seldom enough HCG in your system for the test to register it until you are at least 4-5 days late.. Testing the day before or the day of your period will seldom give you an accurate results. With my last baby I KNEW I was pregnant 3 days after conception, yet I had to be almost a week late to get a positive test results.
If you are still getting a negative test results in a few more days, make an appointment witgh your doctor who can give you a blood test that is nearly fool-proof. THEN you can make your announcement if it's positive.

I would wait a week after the day you missed your period. If your period has still not came and the test says negative I would make an app with your GYN. The tests could just not be picking up on the pregnancy or for some reson you are just missing your period.
With me when I take those HPT I get a very faint line and it is because I don't have high HcG levels for the tests to pick up. Both of my pregnancies it has been like this.

I took a pregnancy test when I was 10 days late and it came out negative. Once I was 20 days late I went to the Doc and had the blood one done, I was pregnant. It may have been too soon, or who knows. I would wait a few more days and then try another home test. I hope it works out for you and if not now then very soon.
Good luck!

It is perfectly possible for the test to come out negative for a while after conception. Home pregnancy tests are designed to react to a certain amount of hCG in your urine, but some womens levels are naturally low and they don't produce enough to indicate a positive test. I would wait one week after you've missed your period and retest, if you still don't have a period by then contact your doctor and request a blood test, that will answer your questions without a shadow of a doubt. Good luck to you and your husband **babydust**

Whether you THINK you are stressed or not, you ARE stressed. You want to be pregnant, so you are stressed. Believe me, I have been there. One test can be wrong, it's not likely for 2 to be wrong. It doesn't really matter if you use first urine or not. Wait a week and take another test. If it's still negative, you are not pregnant. It's too soon for you to seek a doctor's advice on this. If you miss another period, then get in touch with your doc.

When we were TTC and I "thought" I was pregnant (I was never late either), I waited to test until I was 2 weeks late. I know that sounds like a long time and I know you are not stressed (And I take that you mean in a bad "stressed out" kind of way). But anticipation can be a form (a good form) of stress on your body and psyche. After 6 months of religiously trying and not conceiving, we changed our thinking to whatever happens-happens. Do your best to figure out when your "window of opportunity" is then hit it HARD! Then just go on with your life not expecting (pardon the pun) anything.

I was a week pregnant before my test came back positive AND I was using the pee-stick in the morning for a "day after" test. Sometimes mother nature just doesn't cooperate with the urine sticks. Try the test again in a few days and see if anything changes. (FYI- don't take Aleve while trying to conceive. It can stop the implantation process)
Oh yah, and the biggest giveaway for me was my breasts. I was sure I wasn't pregnant but my boobs became so incredibly tender that I decided to double check and test again. That's when I found out I was actually a week pregnant.

The test has an 20+% chance of being negative if you test before your missed period, especially if it was not done with your first urine in the morning, and especially if it was not a test specifically to detect the pregnancy hormone in early pregnancy, (a run of the mill test will work 2 weeks after your missed period) and early pregnancy test might work 5 days before.)
Are you having any other symptoms?
sore breasts, dizzy, enhanced sense of smell, frequent urination's, moody, etc?
wait a week and test again, should this one come out negative go to your doctor.

Not all home tests are acurate and it would probably be best to go to the doctor to find out for sure. The tests at the doctors have a higher sensitivty to HGC than the home tests do. If you are late and want to know if you are or not than go to the doctor. I found out I was pregnant because I spotted and I knew immediately. Do you what you think you need to do. Because if you are pregnant you need to know ASAP because you need to see the doctor with in the first 3 months. Those are the most important of the pregnancy.
