Boudreaux's Butt Paste is the best stuff ever made. You can get it at Wal Mart or most any drug store. It comes in a yellow and white box with a little cartoon baby on it (at least I know It did 4 years ago). I have 5 year old twin boys and neither of them ever had a diaper rash. If either of them even started getting just a little pink, I would rub on a little paste and it was gone in a couple of hours. I mean it really works. Since your child's rash is really bad, rub on the paste and leave his diaper off. The paste costs about $10 for a large tube but it will last forever. Good luck.

For starters, no more baby wipes...use only little little bit of mild baby soap and warm water with every change. Also, give some time to air dry and let air get to the rash. Try for at least an hour a day. Turn the heat up and put a waterproof pad in crib or play pen. Plus, the one cream that works for my daughter is the Aveeno baby diaper rash cream. It is all natural and works like a charm. My doctor recommended it when the desitine wasn't doing anything but making is worse. The Aveeno is more expensive, closer to $5-6, but it works!

My daughter had a diaper rash. I took her to the doctor because it was not getting better with the over the counter creams. We found out it was a yeast infection. The medicine the doctor prescribed did not clear it up. A friend recommended Lotrimin AD. I was reluctant but after Internet research, I found that a lot of doctor's recommend it. It cleared it up in less then 24hrs. I always keep some on hand. I change my daughter A LOT but she still sometimes get a diaper rash.

Bare bottomed is sometimes the best thing to do but if you can't get away with that, a loosely pinned cloth diaper on your baby without rubber pants over top.
It's what my kids get when they get a bad diaper rash, and it always seems to work well. Of course a little diaper rash ointment will also be in order to help speed the healing process up that much more quickly. Poor baby.

Bare butt time. Its the only way to clear it up. Clean it, and let it air dry with no creams or powders on, and let your baby lay around for a couple hours with nothing on. Naked tummy time.
Do that atleast once a day until it clears up. After that, keep the diapers changed regularly, never more than 2-3 hours without a change. Use powder and not cream when there is no rash. Dont use cream during the day. moisture causes rashes.

Triple Paste is really good. Ive had pediatricians recommend that to me besides corn starch and desitin. My daughter had a bad case of diaper rash when she was on antiobiotics and it really did the job.
"Triple Paste. This "super cream" is great for severe rashes. It is a combination of petrolatum, zinc oxide, lanolin, beeswax, and cornstarch. This cream may be difficult to find, but most pharmacies can order it from Summers Laboratories (1-800- 533-SKIN). "

For now- diaper rash cream & allow diaper area to receive air. Aslo, change baby frequently.
In the future- Use vaseline @ every diaper change-- it prevents the baby from getting a diaper rash.
Give it time, it will go away:)

get a mix from pharmacy containing : NEOSTAT (nystatin) & Cortisone cream. Mix that with a bit of your baby's bum cream til get a yellow paste, apply lightly to bum. gone in a day or two (the rash that is)
OR: just use PLAIN CORNSTARCH... at EVERY DIAPER CHANGE.
HEAT about 1/2 cup in microwave first, about 20 seconds or more, to 'zap' any germies.... then keep in sealed contained and sprinkle some on at each change.
Hope that helps!!!
GOod Luck!!!
