Our daughter was really interested in her potty at first when she was two, and then she lost interest. We didn't pressure her to use it or anything, and in a month or two she was interested again and potty trained right away.

We also made a song to sing whenever she used the potty, which she liked a lot. And we gave her M&M's when she used it too. Both were good motivators.

Always make it a positive experience, never yell at the child or criticize them when they don't want to use the potty or have an accident. Positive encouragement and love are best.

Silly as this sounds, my 2 sons had potty issues too, and I used a marker to draw a silly face in the bottom of the pot. They seemed to kick a big kick out of peeing or pooing on the face. Disgusting in thought --yes. But They are 2 well adjusted adults now and they still use the potty (ha ha)

Sometimes toddlers get stubborn. By using the potty he has to admit he's growing up and he just may not be ready to do that. Boys are usually slower than girls to want to train, anyway. My best advice is to ignore his "accidents." Just clean him up and don't say a word for a few weeks. He will train himself when he is good and ready. Don't try to rush it or you will have a battle of wills on your hands. When he realizes you aren't concerned, he'll probably start to use the potty again on his own in a few weeks or months.

has he stopped all together or have you tried the big potty? my kids 2 of the 4 both refused to use the little potty. they wanted to be like me so i let them. if you have tried that then maybe hold off for another few weeks give him a break i would think its tough to learn that kind of thing. no matter what he will be fine and do it in his own time any ways just hang in there i understand a 2 year old butt is a pretty big butt to be changing.

My son was 3 1/2 when he mastered this. A lot of people gave me grief about he's old now etc.. The Dr. said if you rush them then it'll backfire. My niece was rushed and she went to the potty early on too, but then for some reason she stopped, and started soiling her pants. My son honestly hasn't soiled his pants ONCE, he's 4 yers a 2 months now. Just remind him, keep a pull up instead of regualr diapers. When he goes he goes, he'll get it down again.

I worked at a daycare and a 3 yearold i had wouldnt go potty. But then his brother started going to school and he wanted to be just like his big brother. I told him if he starts going to the potty he would get to go to school and ride the school bus. It was so cute cause he did start going. Bribe him. Tell him if he wants to be a big boy and get to go somewhere very special then he has to use his potty.

from my experience with my little bro, he started using the potty when he was ready! I think that goes for every child! You can't make them, you will either frustrate them or even make it take longer for them to use it! He is only 2 years old, relax and just maybe talk to him about it! Don't sit him on it and stuff! He'll go when he is ready!

If he's stopped then stop with him. Don't push him if he wants to regress for awhile. Pushing children to potty train always makes it harder. Just lay off for awhile and then start up again in a week or so. Good luck and God bless.

Put something in the toilet bowl water for him to aim at, like a cotton ball. It will make it more of a game for him, and kids love to play games.

In fact, lots of "big boys" still play this game.

Be patient and don't push. Praise success, but follow his lead.
