You gotta do what you gotta do. My children have peed all over the Jersey Turnpike because we were stuck in traffic. If it's not safe, sometimes you have to sacrifice the car. We were on the side of I95 coming into downtown DC and our son said he couldn't wait. I wouldn't stop because there were no shoulders and I'd rather steam-clean the interior that get run over by a crazy driver... I told him we could wash the seat. I now put a towel and a plastic sheet under the car seats when I put them in the car.

You did the right thing, that's for sure.
Besides, the only people who might "judge" you are ignorant non-parents who don't understand the urgency of the situation. Even a cop would let you go.
Make sure you are better equipped for next time. An empty, clean gallon milk container stored in the trunk is a good solution. I wouldn't revert to "pull-ups", or any other sort of diaper, because then you are conveying the wrong message to your growing child.

Most likely the same thing or if there was an empty container in the car or try asking a few more drivers if they had an empty cup because every ones knows when a child needs to go they need to go, I am sure someone would have had something for you to use.

First of all, a three year old has no business drinking a large lemonade! Most restaurants have child size drinks for a reason! It might not hurt to keep a pair of pull-ups in the car for just such an occasion. As for your actions, I would have done the same - better on the road, than on the upholstery!

i always get into this situation.... so I make sure there's a big Zipper storage bags in my car all the time so when my son needs to pee in the middle of traffic or nowhere I just let him pee in the bag since it has zippedlock it won't spill after usage, you can just throw it at home. Well when kids gotta go they gotta go..

I would have done the same thing. when mt son was being potty trained, it was the middle of winter. We went out and when we were on are way home he said 'I have to go". We did not want him to back-slide because we had gone so far with potty training.
We pulled over at the fire house and got him out and stood him on my seet and let him pee out the door.

Always keep covered container with you (plastic food storage bowl) about a medium. Do not use this bowl for anything other than your daughter's emergencies. Line it with a one gallon plastic food storage bag. Put the lid one it and it's ready for use. If your daughter uses it, close the the bag, and cover the thecontainer. When get home emply contents in toilet throw bag away and cleanse container in bathtub and prepare for next trip.

LOL. i probably would have done the same thing. at this stage in time, (my son is also 3 and a half) i still keep a diaper or 2 in his bag for such types of emergencies including when he says he needs to poop and nearby bathrooms are gross, i'd just rather he poop in a diaper.
