I have 4 children, my oldest 2 will be going to school this september ( 2nd grade and kindergarden ) and my youngest 2 ( twins, 3 1/2 years) are going to preschool this september also. I am so nervous, not that they wont be okay, just that for the last 7 years I have been home with my children and there is usually always 2 of the 4 here at any given time. I dont know what to do with myself, I am upset but excited that my babies are growing up and will be starting their school career, but I am in a spin of emotions from it. I was wondering if there are any other mommies out there that have gone through any simular experiences and what you did. I am totally freaking here, I never imagined the day when all of my kids would be going to some sort of school....thanks for any answers!

Ignorance is a big word and not the right one to use really. But my 3-year old just goes off into her own world and her brain doesn't even seem to register i am talking to her. Will this pass? I always thought this paralazing of the hearing was a symptom of being a teenager ?!?

I've only breast fed up until now and just recently stopped. My daughter Zoe is almost 16 mnts old and is allergic to every kind of milk out there except (blue diamond almond breeze). And silk soy which she doesn't like. After giving her the almond milk I noticed on the container it say Not Intended for use as Infant formula. Does anyone know why? What does that mean? Is it not safe for me to give to her at this age? I would hate to have finally found a type of milk Zoe likes but cannot drink. I do give her other foods that contain calcium but she really likes milk. I wrote to the company but still have not heard any think yet. An answer would greatly be appreciated.

Sincerely LouLou

I am on a tight budge, but I am wanting to know if anyone has any quick, easy, cheap, and HEALTHY dinner ideas for a 17 month old? It is for the nights when we have something for dinner she can't eat like spicy food and seafood. I know at this age they are allowed to have seafood but I don't feel comfortable giving it to her and I don't want to give her spicy food either, I think they would be too hard on her tummy.

Any ideas? I really need them to be cheap, easy, quick, and most importantly HEALTHY!

I have read that a 3 year-old child should watch no more than 1/2 hour of TV each day....mine loves Dora, Blue's Clues, Sesame Street...so, if you add, that is way more than 1/2 hour, he still play outside, play with his toys, paint, draw, drives us crazy...all the things a typical 3 year-old boy does....I just wanted to know if your children see more TV than they should, and if you think that letting them watch programs like those for more than 1/2 hour, can harm them in some way.

My mom watches my two sons (one will be one year old next week, the other will be 28 months old next week) while I work during the day. She insists on feeding them two large meals (breakfast and lunch) during the day instead of two smaller meals and two snacks. She says they eat better/larger meals if she doesn't give them snacks. I believe if the snack is healthy (fruit, yogurt, etc.) then it shouldn't make a difference if they don't eat ALL of their breakfast or lunch, or eat a huge portion. I would rather feed my boys six small meals than three huge ones. Anyone who has a two year old knows that they are prone to "meltdowns" periodically, and I have to wonder if my older son is behaving like this because of low blood sugar. It just doesn't seem right to me to have two young children eat breakfast at 7:30 a.m., then have NOTHING between then and lunch time (about noon). She does give them juice when she brings them in from their walk in the a.m., but that's it. Advice?

On night late in my second pregnancy, my four year old, husband and I were eating dinner at a local buffet. While we were walking around looking at the food, a rather robust man walked by us. My daughter points and says "he's got a big belly like you mom." I wanted to hide in the mashed potatoes.

When it comes to your child, it shouldn't matter how much the item is. I heard people(and I am not putting anyone down) say, "I wont buy my toddler a potty because it's too much, when I can just buy a seat cover." How much more? Like $12? come on now.

I just had my second child so I'm kind of a stay-at-home mom, for a while. My oldest is 3 and he's out of daycare until I go back to work. I feel horrible because I can't come up with any indoor activities for us to do so all he does is watch t.v. I know this isn't healthy at all. Please! Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

My daughter's daycare tells me that the past two days she has started to shake if something little happens, like her ice cream cone drips. She's been at her dad's house since Friday night. They are wondering if she gets yelled at when at his house and she spills something. How can I know? Her dad wouldn't tell me if it was the case.
